  1. Am I missing anything for coroplast

I hate the corogloss ink. Like everyone said, it drys FAST in the screen, even with retarder, and that's on a semi automatic press. I've been using NazDars 9800 poly ink for probably 15 years on coro. It adheres well and prints soooo much easier. It's thin enough to use without additives and has...
  2. Fishing the Rips

Maybe a little Lk Michigan salmon fishing here. If the big water's too rough for my s 17 footer, than it's some walleye searching after dark inland.
  3. Cutting magnetic sheeting

I just use a safety ruler on a cutting board for one or two pieces but when I have to trim a batch or sheet off the roll, nothing beats a decent mat cutter.
  4. printing flourecent colors

I have a few gallons of fluorescent screen printing ink leftover. That's about your only way to print fluorescent ink.
  5. Whats a good printer for printing on canvas

HP3200 series and the Canon iPf6000 and up.
  6. Things You Can't Get Anymore

Nesbitt's Orange Soda. Even had little orange chunks in the bottom of the bottle.
  7. Roofies!

Jill, I have a standing seam metal roof on my house which is close to 100 years old now. It was galvanized and has been painted in the past but it still holds the rain out and sheds the snow. Now if I could just afford a new membrane flat roof on my shop!
  8. Omega on Apple

Long ago and far far away Gerber produced a wonderful little Illustrator plug in called MacImprint which still works exceptionally well running my Edge on my Mac. http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Apple+Macintosh(R)+Gets+the+EDGE(R)+with+MacImprint(TM).-a053717053 Here's one of their original adds...
  9. Eco Solvent Printing on 651 oracal

Bumper stickers are supposed to be removable adhesive vinyl. That's the difference between a decal and a bumper sticker. No one wants to fight taking off a political bumper sticker after an election. Try Orajet 3621.
  10. Might get into printing the poly bag yard signs

Huge expense. We screen polycoat political signs also by the thousands ourselves and would never consider doing this. Not to mention, it would never fit in our building. 5 -10K poly signs a month is a few hours of actual work on a flexo press.
  11. Illustrator file size gets too big!

Even with little experience in Photoshop, you should be able to resize the photos to a more manageable size and THAN place them in your Illy file. If you save them as a high quality jpeg from PS they should be even smaller. If you "re-size" the photos in Illy, they technically are not smaller...
  12. What tool do you recommend to contour cut Gatorfoam or/and PVC sheets?

If they're large, a router by hand. If they're smaller, a router mounted under a table. Just make sure that the twist of the cutting flutes "pull" the laminated print into the substrate and not away from it. So you need a different bit for each setup.
  13. Cast or Calendered?

The only vehicle graphics I do with calendered are school sports window decals. Commercial vehicles ALWAYS get the good stuff. The few bucks you save aren't worth it in the long one. The cost of one failure in labor and reputation isn't worth the chance.
  14. Illustrator Text

I have my working space in inches and my type in points. Frankly, there is so much variation in the actual size of one font to the next it's pretty irrelevant. If you have to make something accurate like a 3" DOT number, just pull down a couple of guides and fit in between them.
  15. HP DesignJet 9000 windows 7 driver

You need a honest RIP for the 9000, not a driver.
  16. Sail vinyl

Bainbridge Aquabatten is a sail supply company and should have anything you'd like. 800-433-0101
  17. Epson 9800 no ink coming out

I've resurrected some Epson desktop units by unplugging the machine when the printheads were off the parking station. I than placed a folded piece of paper toweling over the capping aread and saturated it with Simple Green. I manually moved the printheads back and let it set overnight. Pulled...
  18. Clear decal, murky situation

We're flatstock screen printers too and Fred's suggestion should work fine. It's a great idea. Also, I dont' understand why it should be a problem printing your white squares inset from your cut line too. The main problem there is accurate registration for the screen print. Many commercial...
  19. Can't move object to another layer

Ditto what Gypsy says. Anything that saves a step is worth learning and her way is the fastest.
  20. HP 9000s Job paused for cleaning left gap when started again.

I ran 200 feet of vinyl through mine last week and I've never had the issue you're referring to. I'll get a pause every now and than, but never a gap in the print. Are you sure it isn't an issue with your file? I have seen raster files that, when zoomed in closely, have had hairline breaks in...
