  1. Is there a "Complete Idiot's Guide to Wide Format Printing" or something?

It's hard to help when the question is as general as "I have a printer. Don't know what to do with it. Can anyone tell me what and how"? Should someone in this forum take the hours which are needed to explain to you all about LFP-RIPping, Solvent-Printing and so on? I'm shure you will get more...
  2. Summa S class 2 plotters, the new ones

The name is OPOS, not opas. I've done that, works fine. The RIP-Software needs to support it.
  3. Flexi 10 dongle broke

I don't know how it is in the US, but in Europe you could replace a broken dongle for a small fee.
  4. EcoSol MAX or Latex-which ink?

The wash resistance of transfers printed with latex is much higher than that printed with eco-solvent.
  5. Summa S class 2 plotters, the new ones

You can order additional rollers. But, and thats new on the S2, it is possible to add additional rollers in the field (should be done by a technician), no need to be factory installed.
  6. Summa S class 2 plotters, the new ones

There is no difference in cutting quality or main mechanics between S1 and S2. The only thing what could have an influence to tracking is that it is now possible to add additional rollers in the field (instead of needing to order it factory-installed). But I think this is only needed for special...
  7. HP Designjet 5500 PS?

No. A PS requires additional hardware.
  8. OPOSx Question

I know that it works with wasatch. No idea why not with your installation.
  9. OPOSx Question

I currently don't use wasatch. I have used and configured it sometimes in the past with contour cutting on summas too, but I don't know what could be the problem with your installation. Were do you get the values you set manually? It's the wrong way to measure it at the print, you need to have...
  10. OPOSx Question

I don't understand why you set up the values manually? Regularly you need to set up the Summa as a contour cutter in wasatch. Then Wasatch will place the OPOS-Markers automatically AND will place the values of the markers into the plot file which will be uploaded automatically when sending the...
  11. Summa S class 140 T

No roll plotter can do that because of as soon as holes are cutted in the media, the media looses stability for feeding. The Summa can do Flexcut, what means the ploter cuts through, but with breaks. If configured optimal, the material of the holes remain during plotting, but can be easily...
  12. Flexi pro color separation

To show single colors, choose Menu View - Filter.
  13. Flexi 8 and windows 8? Do they play nice?

Flexi 8 is not compatible with Windows 8.
  14. new media flange design

I don't have a pic, but they look nearly identical to the old ones.
  15. Thermal to Latex

There is a list of compatible media available from summa itself (I doesn't find mine, otherwise I would upload it). But which media you ever use: you will be more expensive with thermal transfer than with inkjet. On the other hand there are some advantages of thermal printing which can't be...
  16. Need some help ! Been trying forever

If don't having a transparent background, for example in a TIF- oder JPG-File, Flexi could set the background to transparent: Menu "Bitmap -> Make Transparent" will convert the cursor to a magic wand-tool to select the background color to be deleted. Since v10, it works with all kind of bitmaps...
  17. Ioline Studio 8 Problems

There are Adaptors available from 9 to 25 pins too. Perhaps interface cards with 25-pin-serial connectors too.
  18. My new toy!!!

If you have your plotter 8 years, perhaps it needs new pinch rollers? There is a panelling functionality available on the S-class. With that, the plotter will not move long distance, but will completely cut the graphic on a definable panel completely and then the next panel. perhaps this will help.
  19. Ioline Studio 8 Problems

Where have you plugged in the serial cable on computer side? Computers have no 25-Pin serial ports anymore since around 15 years, and often if users have 25-pin serial cables they plug it into the parallel port (what won't work of course).
  20. Roland errors

I don't think that network traffic could be a reason for that VersaWorks do not recognize the printer, network traffic could slow down data transmission and print speed (longer pauses between passes). If the message appears permanently, it should be that the IP at the printer is incorrect.
