Its vector, but you could do an inside contour ranging from grey to white, many steps, small incriments. OR, you could export teh text in high res to photoshop, do the effect, bring it back into corel and powerclip it to the text.

I don't think that there is a single one click button to do this. You could do interest, then that will leave the 'intersected' section. Then, trim that intersected section from each of the original pieces.

I've brought them into photoshop and depending on the image, just clone or color to the edge. Corel does have it's small glitches like this, but since the color managment is much better in X4, i prefer it over illustrator.

Trim funtion on that.... Select what you dont want trimmed and then click the trim button. You will then trim away from what you don't want remaining.

Keep in mind that it changes the font IN YOUR WORK AREA, not just on the flyout. I like it because you can see how that font will look in your current layout. Like a blind man in an orgy, you're just going to have to feel things out.
