  1. Trifold brochure

Thanks for all the insight. I'm totally new to designing brochures so I think I will start grabbing more of them at hotels and gas stations and studying them to get some idea what works and what doesn't. I definitely can see how too much information can easily be ignored so the inside layout...
  2. Trifold brochure

This trifold brochure isn't just for any customer. It's for our own business. It's my first stab at it, so I could really use some feedback on the good, the bad, and the ugly before we send these out to print and then wind up hating them later. If there is anything at all that you would...
  3. Your Opinion Matters To Me...

We just bought a brand new M&R 6 color, 4 station screen press a few days ago for the same reason, 2012 tax breaks. Our bookkeeper seemed to agree that it would be a good idea since we have enough cash in our bank account to pay for it in full, so we just did it. I don't think you can ever be...
  4. Coroplast sheets

I love your brutal honesty, but you deliver a great message. I think, from my experience thus far, that customers can be cheap everywhere. I greatly attribute this to exactly what you are saying, an over-saturated market where people give work away for far less than market value. I love when...
  5. Something a bit different

    Outstanding work.

  8. goin to school for graphic design

I'm absolutely positive no one else here will lose any sleep over it.
  9. goin to school for graphic design

That's sad considering you are speaking to some of the top professionals in the sign industry. Many of the people on this forum are internationally recognized for their work, published, and extremely successful (and probably wealthy) among other credentials. You say you don't want to be like...

    C-c-c-catch the wave!
  11. Struggling with this one.

I am posting the version we are going with. After showing it to the customer it was immediately a hit. The only revisions I made were kerning adjustments and changing the way the tag line is worded. I probably would have toyed with it some more, but since the customer is happy, I am happy.
  12. Struggling with this one.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am very busy at the moment and have a ski trip this weekend so I may not post more until Monday but I will post my revisions next week. I definitely need to adjust the kerning and I will be taking other suggestions into consideration, as well.
  13. Struggling with this one.

Here is a logo I am designing for a tax and bookkeeping service. The customer painted her walls with colors similar to the three Pantones and absolutely insists that these colors are incorporated in the logo. She has owned several H&R Block locations over the years and is stepping out on her...
  14. Favorite tools on installs

1/2"inch thick solid felt squeegee. Can't live without one.
  15. Looking for "Wow"... all I have is "ummm ok"

I'm not sure I understand why the M's are completely different in style from each other. Also, as has been said, the disjointed script doesn't work. It needs proper kerning. In my opinion, LHF Sofia script would be a winner here if he is so insistent on a script font.
  16. Got 1st time burn done lol

Not to change the subject but $12 a piece for 60 tshirts seems like a really high price even if art and screen fees are included. Things may be more expensive in New York but we would be at $7 each here. That leaves us with about a $4.00 profit on each shirt.. If you can get $12 good for you...
  17. Need lighting recommendations

Thanks again, Moze. You da man!
  18. Check us out in Sign Builder Illustrated this month!
