The Edge is a 300 dpi printer,not an 1400 dpi inkjet. You will always get stepping on diagonals. It usually insignificant on the final product. The "dots" on process color printing essentially camouflage that effect.

Cody, A industrial "walking foot" machine. Banner vinyl doesn't slid under the foot well and will curl the banner as you sew. On a walking foot machine, both the foot and the bottom teeth move together. Do a search on ebay for industrial sewing machines to check them out.

Ditto on the 9000. Loving it. Only problem is the print quality is so good that I haven't used the "old" 5000 in a couple of months now.
