Yes, it is easier to print out one big piece of vinyl.
Yes, the industry is moving in that direction or actually one step further and printing the sheet on a flatbed UV curable printer.
The reason to paint the substrate and vinyl letter is because you don't already own a printer or have a bunch...
Sorry guys but I think it's the plotter. I've had Graphtecs since 1989 and am on my third one right now. A FC7000-100. I know all about offsets and any other hardware tweaks but mine does the same thing, INTERMITTENTLY. I cut a lot of amberlith for my screen positives and it is very obvious when...
I'm going with Brian on the punched holes being off. I've had some that actually ran up the sprockets on the Edge because they were so off that they wouldn't even feed.
A customer brought in a nice political layout on a print. I asked about sending the file and of course, the graphic guy left town and would be out of the loop for way to long. This is one I couldn't track down.
Thanks for the help.
I think your good on the LE but I have no idea what the Select is. You'll have to get a ruling form Gerber on that one. I just looked around a bit on GSP's site and can't even find a mention of MI other than some material update downloads so you may be out of luck in less you can find someone to...
I was a beta tester for MI back in 99 and have been using it ever since.
From the best unmentioned sources I can quote, MI will not be updated to any new version.
Right now it's "stuck" in Illustrator 10 which i am running in OS 10.4.11. I don't know if it will run in Leopard but I think not...
How I deal with hidden paths is this. Take the selection arrow with the + sign. Click once on the path, hold the shift key and drag across the same path which will deselect the top path and select all the hidden paths. Hit delete.
Often when you have a compound shape and can't get the inner...
We reverse print on clear .008" lexan which is than laminated to a white backing sheet for trade show graphics. I'd think that this would be a very durable way to handle skateboards.
The bad stuff you've read, believe it and run. There's a reason you can find them cheap.
Look for a used Gerber Edge if you think you need thermal transfer or look for a smaller solvent inkjet.
I have a 5000 in my shop with both the dye and pigmented inksets. I have not been able to get an opaque enough print for a positive and you
definitely can't do dye sub on them.
Short term interior is it so if your into POP stuff go for it. Remember, it's only a $3K printer brand spanking new.
Your siding isn't an awning. If your going to attempt this listen to GraphiX and use high performance cast. Also, use a rivet brush and heat and work that vinyl into the texture. 5 minutes on a wall isn't two years on a flexible awning in the sun.
