  1. Graphtec not completing cuts

I had a defective blade holder when I bought my second Graphtec. I had an original 2100-50 that I bough in 89 and never had a problem like this, but the old blade holder was made out of brass, not plastic like the new one. After jumping through all the hoops like you are, going through all of...
  2. ce5000-60 and illustrator problem

The sensor is there for a reason. If you're are out of the room and your vinyl is squed or you come to the roll end, you want your plotter to stop or it will chew up your teflon ribbon. For some reason, your vinyl is lifting off the sensor at times and giving you the error. One other reason that...
  3. ce5000-60 and illustrator problem

I'm going with mooch here. If your roll of vinyl is sort of "set" because it is older or whatever, it is probably lifting off the back sensor on the plotter and reading that it's out of material. Try sticking a piece of masking tape over it and send the job again under close supervision, just in...
  4. VersaWorks on Mac vs. PC

I'm running PosterJet via Parallels on my MacPro and have no speed issues at all except for the occasional customer provided file. I have no idea what the cause of that is though. HP9000s is my printer. If the printing bed is up to temp it's almost instantaneous when I send the print file.

Brendon, First I want to say that we are not a merchant member but, we do screen print bumper stickers, at least when the quantities justify setting up the press vs. running them off the solvent printer. I'll give you a quote it you'd like. Qty, number of colors, and size is what I'd need...
  6. Paper backing from vinyl..is it biodegradable?

I dump all those peanuts in a clean garbage bag. Your local UPS store will happily take them off you hand and re-use or resell them.

Todd, We would have been about $830.00 on this job. That's our retail but frankly, I couldn't discount it less than $775.00.
  8. Does anyone use a HP 8000

I think your comparing your un-laminated print on mat vinyl with another companies print on gloss vinyl with a gloss laminate. Like night and day. Give your Arlon a shot. I run an HP9000 here and love the output. Bright and vivid colors.
  9. Coordinating Edge to Graphtec plotter?

If you can print up the 4 corner registration marks that the Graphtec needs, why not? It would depend more on what software your driving your Graphtec with. We can screen print registration marks and cut out the graphic using Graphtec's Cutting Master plug in.
  10. Items you’ve Wrapped.

We did an old stainless steel yogurt machine. It really looked nasty before the wrap.
  11. Need Help - Printed Vinyl on Wallpaper

I think the actual wallpaper is the problem here. I applied an Edge printed and cut logo for a coffee shop in our local airport. My first attempt was on Oracal 631 removable. I literally couldn't remove the premask without lifting the vinyl. This was after cleaning with Rapid Prep and tac. I...
  12. Graphtec not completing cuts

Before you start messing with the offset take a close look at the corners of a square. If they look rounded a bit or they cut with "points", you need to adjust your offset. If they're perfectly square, you have to look someplace else.
  13. selecting only contours of an object

A lot of Corel originated files seem to break images into panels like you are describing when opened in Illustrator. A gradient color will always panel like that also. They can be a pain to join up, even with the pathfinder tools. You may have to select one of the edges of a piece and nudge it...
  14. from paint to vinyl

You've never said what plotter that you're using. There may be settings on the plotter that you need to change. Gpgl to Hpgl or visa versa. Although you should be getting some response at least. Also, I was just having issues with my GsxPlus loosing connection so I went on line to get a fresh...
  15. from paint to vinyl

Check to see if the plotter is showing up in the Mac system profile first. I run a Graphtec and a GsxPlus off a Keyspan adapter and have for years. I don't use Flexi however, just Graphtec's Cutting master plug in and Gerber's MacImprint plug in. What plotter are you trying to use?
  16. Which printer works best with Graphtec cutter?

Cutting Master actually places the registration marks in the file before you print it so it's irrelevant what printer you might use. I'm desinging in Illy Cs3 on my MacPro. Printing via PosterJet in windows on the same Mac and than cutting back in Illy with Cutting Master. The only issue is...
  17. hello from Central Fl

Welcome from Traverse City Michigan. Last week at this time I was in Bowling Green Florida. . . . and now back in the frozen north. . . .
  18. greetings from michigan

Howdy from Traverse City. I'll wave on my way down to Florida this evening!
  19. Templates ???

OK, if you have eps, (I'm assuming vector), as an Illustrator file already, what are you doing trying to put them in PhotoShop? You have what you need and if you rasterize them in PS you will no longer have a cut pattern. If your just using the "template" in PS to work on the design, just leave...
