  1. what comes around....goes around!

About 2 weeks ago this guy comes in soliciting toner cartridge replacements and we told him we have a pretty good place we go to and are happy. He asks about our photocopier and we told him it was down but we just used the fax machine or scanner to do copies ( a pain but I really don't like...
  2. is there a simple way to get files properly?

I gave in and sent it to the designer that shares space with me and he fixed it for me. I asked wtf was the problem with the file. He said that the file was locked and he found 2 different shades of blue where there should have only been one, and the stroke data should have been converted to...
  3. is there a simple way to get files properly?

yes tif files are ok but I have always found that all the colours get lighter than how they were origianlly designed.
  4. is there a simple way to get files properly?

Every now and then I get an eps file and with all the masking people put into files I don't want to break them apart as I have found on the odd occasion that info can change. I print out of Flexi and for instance today i know right away I have a problem whereby 2 white strokes when...

  6. seal el laminator

ahhh those.... Like I said I never run laminate straight off the roll to often, I prefer to pre cut the sheet and tape it to the graphic... I am constantly changing laminate media so it is quicker to just cut the piece off the main roll. Most of my stuff will never really exceed 60" or so
  7. seal el laminator

what do you mean settings? I just tighten and off I go.... there are settings? never seen any. oh and that box idea is pretty smart..... Unfortuanately I am not!!! lol
  8. seal el laminator

I love mine but honestly I have only once or twice tried doing anything over 10 feet. Although the laminator will have no problem doing its thing, the problem lies more in that I dont have that gizmo at the front to hold the roll, so it becomes a bit stressful trying to keep small debris off the...
  9. I miss.....

The hardest part of summer so far this year is that 2 buildings over some industrial bakery moved in and all I can smell all day is fresh baked bread. hard to resist
  10. CGI 1500 by 3M anyone ever heard of this?

I figured it out..the CGI stands for the CONVENIENCE GROUP, and you know what that means...they have renamed a product to their own spec and now it gets spec'd to architects and we are forced to buy from them. I wonder if it is even a 3M product? I will request a sample and see who's it is...
  11. CGI 1500 by 3M anyone ever heard of this?

It is a code given to me by an architect and we all know what that means..... probably from 1976 My dealer has no such code and I googled it and still got nada. I know it is a frosted window film and I sent the guy the 2 types I can get from my 3M dealer, and he refused both. Do I need this?
  12. how many times you been burnt on repeats in Flexi

I guess I should be thankful I use Signlab to cut lol. Mind you I have never used the software to determine cut pressure, just the cutter itself. heck I didn't even know you could do that lol
  13. how many times you been burnt on repeats in Flexi

perfect example this morning, although it was not a repeat function... I had just printed a new file for a repeat customer and I saved it after I had sent it out to rip and print. I then opened an existing file that I have printed many times and when I sent it to rip and print I looked at the...

  16. how many times you been burnt on repeats in Flexi

I am really not sure how Flexi saves information but I have been burnt many times by re printing a portion of a file and leaving the room only to come back later and still find the machine printing. It seems to save the amount you initially requested sometimes and other times it does not...

I have used the edge for over 15 years and today I have experienced something weird and different. I use Signlab to set up my files and then send them as a gad file over to omega and then do all my colour changes and cut info When I need to cut something I send it over as a magenta or if...
