Estimate is alive and well- they switched to a per month program a couple
years back but they still support the earlier purchased versions- they even
have free upgrades occasionally. I like it- it works for me. Gene
Will VW ever have the capablity of sequential cutting? And it seems that
you cannot send a cut job to a cutter while driving the printer? Both of
these are production hurtles- and my old legs are tired. The good news
on my VP540/GX500 exerience is that I cut a 10+ foot print/cut yesterday...

Also it seems that you cannot send a cut job to the GX while VWorks is
sending a print to the cutter? Not so handy. I did send an 8' long print
to the GX and the registration was dead on- I would have been tense to
do that when cutting on the VP540. I think this is going to increase...
I have worked with this for a week or so and I am wondering if what
I am doing is the best solution. I set up the printer for an offset 47"
print on the 54" material- see pict. That seems to be the only way to
get the roland registration marks to line up with where the GX-500 has

One of my customers is having a benefit with Corey Stevens playing at the Blainebrook event center and I have 10 tickets and a bunch of people

Well I popped for a GX-500 just before the price increase (early Feb I think)
and finally have it and have time to get it set up. I built a vinyl catch 'sling'
and have started figuring out how to get it to cut from the VP reg marks
and early impression is that it is a way better cutter than...
