It's usually a sign the head is failing. The DX4 head can shoot different sized dots. The largest dot is the easiest to fire properly and is used in the test print so the nozzle check can look perfectly good and still over spray when printing. If you take a look at your service report, I'm...
As long as you have a 4 color setup you can run the machine with only one cartridge of each color. It will give you an error but it should still allow you to print. Pulling one will force it to pull from the other.
Sorry I just realized you said CJV150 not the CJV30. On the CJV150 you can't change the cartridge priority. The only way to trick it is to pull the cartridge out yourself to force it to pull from the near expired one.
If Mutoh knew your dealer was setting machines up brand new with after market inks they would have a fit!
Mutoh recommends changing the maintenance station once per year but most people run it until it fails which can be anywhere from 1 to 3 years in my experience. Usually you will need to...
Yeah usually it would disconnect, reconnect and then unlock and move to the far side of the machine. I would see if you can get into service mode and run the linear encoder setup and calibration, then run the limit position again and see if that works.
Our dampers are OEM so there shouldn't be any issues. When you say they are leaking, do you mean from the damper itself or ink is dropping from the head?
Once you can work on a Roland, Mimaki, or Mutoh printer, you can basically figure the rest out pretty easily as they all use the same/similar parts. I've never been associated with Roland but I have fixed many of them in the field.
You have to work for a dealer or Mimaki. They won't train independent techs. That being said, if you have experience fixing machines in the field, you can find a dealer who might contract service calls out to you, do some jobs and build a relationship, then ask them to send you to training. It's...
I've been fixing machines in the field and selling print heads for over 10 years and I've never seen a DX7 head with only 4 total connections. I agree with Jim. I wouldn't put it in my machine. Even plugging the cables in the wrong order on a regular DX7 will fry things.
Exactly. Someone else's numbers might get you in a ball park but no printer in the world just prints the exact same color if you input certain CMYK values into it. That's what color profiling is for!
We ship overnight a lot due to the fact that printers seem to go down right in the middle of your biggest job of the year. We just pass on the policies from FedEx. FedEx isn't giving guarantees and so we aren't either. As long as we get the box to FedEx as we promise, what happens after that is...
