Just an update on my print problem. As I said in a prior post it was the Cutter Solenoid Assmebly that was causing the problem. After emailing the company I purchased it from, they proceeded to fill me in on how to adjust the assembly. We are back up and running.
I just want to say a BIG...
No Graphtec is a Japanese company. The point being made is simply you get what you pay for. Yes the cheap chinese plotter will work for a while but they are simply not built like a Graphtec or Summa.
Ok have you tried going directly to IOlines site to see if you can find the answer?
http://ioline.com/prod/compare_plot.html
I also did a search for the Mimaki and found your post in the graphics forum. As said there you are probably better off with the Ioline if you can find a bridge for...
Thanks I may be in touch if it doesnt get fixed by the middle of the week. As far as the name I thought it was odd as well but that is from the book I have.
Ok the part that is causing the problem seen in the video I posted is called the Cutter Solenoid Assembly. It is obviously too low as seen in my pictures as opposed to "401's" pictures. Now I need to figure out how to adjust it. Waiting on the dealer I bought it from to email me back. I need to...
I saw your post about used plotters. As long as you stay with Graphtec, Summa, Roland, Gerber or Ioline I think you would be happy as long as your doing only cut vinyl and no die cutting they will all work. Keep in mind Graphtec does make the FC and CE series the FC is for heavy commercial work...
@ Randya, thanks the first thing I did was set all the SL temps to match Flexi. After seeing 401's pictures you can plainly see my media sensor is too close.
@ 401, look at the difference in the height of our sensor compared to mine. Now the question is how to fix it. I am waiting on my...
I bought this used from a dealer who stated that they went through the machine and also installed a new print head. Not bad mouthing anyone as parts do wear out and if it is the spring as you suggest I am not sure that would be included when changing the head. I just need it fixed as I am unable...
Here is a picture of the head moved out over the media. I feel this will show you a little better than a video.
Also is there an adjustment for it? :frustrated:
401
I will have that uploaded in a few minutes. You hit it on the head no pun intended but thats what it appears to be. But why would it only do it in SL so heavily yet in Flexi it is pretty much non existent.
I went in and set SL temps to match Flexi and still the same issue. Originally they were at 45/40/45 then I even tried changing them to 38/40/50 which is what you saw in the video. These are also the settings a good friend uses for the same equipment setup as mine.
Well I did not receive any advise on my original post  (http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99187) except Hubert from SL is working with me to figure it out on Signlabs end.
I have since uploaded a video to youtube see the link below...
Has anyone ever saw this or had this problem. It is like something is dragging. When I printed small decals the size of a quarter I had no problems but anything larger I end up with the lines you see in the picture.
I did run the machine with the lid open and noticed the decal is fine until...
I agree, a lot of the older printers have extremely slow print speeds. You are also limited to 2ft banners due to the size. I would not suggest going any smaller than 48". Just my .02
Royster
First off let me start with the 500 decals can be done cheaper in house especially when they are only the size of a quarter. Print, Lam and cut. No weeding just cut into 25 count sheets. (Done with Keencut Sabre) It takes longer to die cut then to print them total time less than an...
The probelm I am presented with is whenever I print from SL 9.1 I am getting this what looks to be banding. But when I print the same file from Corel through Flexi it prints perfectly. I have tried setting the heat platens to the exact temps as Flexi and still the same problem. I have done a...
As far as a cutter goes. If you had a 30" cutter with ARMS you would be able to print on a 30" roll of vinyl, laminate it and then contour cut the decals.
I used to have a Canon IPF 8000 but was unable to use the above process as Signlab did not have the correct drivers for my printer. So...
I will say you might want to check the output specs on this printer as in square feet per hour. I am not sure but the older printers were extremely slow when compared to whats available now. I recently bought a used 1204 from Graphic Resource Systems in NJ. They always get used 1204's in from...
