I got in before the price increase, but my rep said it would have been $1295 instead of $995...so not sure if someone wants to confirm this with Roland, but that is a painful % increase. Granted mine is for the smaller SP300V of Rolands too...while the VP and 540's prob have a bigger jump in price.

Oracal 3651/210 lam for pretty much 90% what I do...if I want cut vinyl only or in a certain color - I stick with Oracal 651 and 751... I havent tried 3M yet, but might soon. Im a newbie, but Avery I stay away from like the plague after reading things on here ;)

yeah personally you arent losing out without going to Vista...but nowadays any prebuilt computer you buy has it preloaded (and hard to get XP unless you buy a Dell business computer or build it yourself), so just get used to using it in the future as MS eventually will not support XP anymore.

I think the white outline idea might help as already stated...then the ink splat might look half decent since it will be more in the background. And yes, I would lighten the colors a bit too.

I will also say I havent heard anything good about printing on magnets....you will get some dreaded head strikes which will cause the heads to die quick....and I even heard the material soaks up more ink and the images look washed out/dull. Do what the others says, print on vinyl then apply it...
