  1. Building new Shop. Any Suggestions?

In-Floor Heating is one thing that no one could convince me not to go with. I've worked many hours in shops with it and you do not feel like you are standing on concrete. I like the ease and dust-free advantage of overhead radiant, but a warm floor is so much more comfortable.
  2. Building new Shop. Any Suggestions?

Old Paint. Still not sure I agree that I'd waste more with a 34' shop then 36' as I can use a 2' width on the start of the next section, then have a four foot at the end of the second one. Anyway, as Gino described in very good detail, I AM rethinking my plans. Although if I do go bigger it may...
  3. Building new Shop. Any Suggestions?

I'm planning on a 10' high ceiling, so I can flip sheets of material around. During the summer months when I'm at my busiest the outside temp ranges from 20-30 Celcius (70-90 F.) so I can work on larger stuff outside. And last time I checked 34 was divisable by 2. Sorry, not trying to be an...
  4. Building new Shop. Any Suggestions?

Good advice Gino. I never thought of the saw being out of square after rolling it outside. As for the washrooms, good point, but I only advertise as a mobile, and delivery service only. I am concerned about if I need to hire an employee prior to expanding to a commercial location. And that is...
  5. suggestion for a reasonable substrate cutter!

This is something I have been researching intensly I was sold on a Fletcher FSC, but now I'm leaning towards a Saw Trax. Here's why- The Flecther will only cut a 4' sheet of Dibond vertically. True that the Saw Trax will only do this with the ACM attachment (similar to the Fletcher and dust...
  6. Stop using topical steroid creams!

6 Months off Topical Steroid Cream Started this thread a while back warning of the dangers of using coerticosteroid creams as a treatment for eczema. Well today marks 6 the six month milestone for me since I stopped cold turkey. This has by far been the most challenging thing I have ever done...
  7. Building new Shop. Any Suggestions?

Wow. Tons of great info. I should have specified a little more info. The saw will only be used inside when using the roller cutter and knife cutter. I'm buying a sawtrax, so it will be easy to roll right out the door and do the cutting outside- even in winter- hence the placement right at the...
  8. Building new Shop. Any Suggestions?

I'll be starting to build my new shop on my property in the next 6-8 weeks and I thought I'd see if anyone has some suggestions on anything that may not be obvious in designing the layout. I don't need to hear "build it as big as you can" or "you'll wish you built it bigger" Those are obvious...

  10. Well it had to happen didn't it

That's what you call a debate? Someone posts a contensous response and you insult them. I don't see anything resembling a debate here.
  11. Well it had to happen didn't it

So you're upset that a potential customer got two prices to get himself the best deal for his hard earned money, offered you a chance to quote it, and even told you where you had to be? If you offer a better product, or can justify why he should go with you, it's your job to explain that to your...
  12. So whatya jamin at work today

Miles and Kyle. New album rocks great basslines and horn sections. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxJtBEfAT_E
  13. Looking for Feedback on the EZY TAPER

I thought so too, but I've onlu used a big squeegee and never an electric laminator so my experience is limited
  14. Looking for Feedback on the EZY TAPER

Just got back from the ISA Show in Vegas, and watched a demo of the Ezy Taper. I was very impressed. It's sort of reverse technology, as it is mechanical only with no electric components. Looks great for mounting and taping for sure, but I'm wondering if the claims of it being a great laminator...
  15. Looking to purchase Dodge Challenger Stripe Vector

I'm looking for a vender who can sell a vectored file of 2013 Dodge Challenger Ralley stripes. Not fussy which design they have. To be clear, I'm not looking for hand-me down files that are copywrited, but ones that are of the suppliers own design. Dodge dart would also be good. Or a point in...
  16. What's your biggest signmaking mistake

"I cut it twice and it's still too short!"

  18. Please tell me what Im doing wrong, im here to learn

+1 I also have printed colour charts on the wlls of my office. Use them as a guide, and yes, most of them are way off from what they look like on the monitor
  19. ISA who is going?

I'll be there. My first trip to Vegas. A couple deep stack poker tourneys, NHRA drag racing at the speedway, Sublime tribute band at the Hard Rock. Oh, and some sign stuff also.
