  1. My personal truck wrap for work

Nice job on the wrap, but dude..... that's just plain, freaking overkill. Too many effects, too much going on, too hard to read.... it's hard on the ole' eyes. Less is more
  2. Photoshop question

    Yes you do
  3. Can anyone help out a noobie?

http://www.signwarehouse.com/specials/Q60_pkg1.html One of the best bangs for your buck. Get you all setup to go with a good quality plotter, and just browse around the site to see some of your other options. If you think the price is too steep... stick to stereo's. Going any cheaper would...
  4. Graphtec Contour Problem

Hey bud, so how large are these squares? Some things I've noticed are: 1. Large graphics RARELY cut perfectly. I have to rough it on contour cuts cuz it's rarely very exact. 2. Any way to cut these squares individually? Basically instead of sending 10, sending one? Or are they too small to...
  5. Odd scripty font

Thanks Ken! I think that will work. And of all things... I found it on one of my hard drives! LOL :thankyou: again.
  6. Perf. window film how much charge?

Optically clear 290 sometimes, but usually not. I admit I'm a newb to using perf. (couple months?) , but I haven't seen a problem with my truck that has no laminate on it...
  7. Perf. window film how much charge?

Funny. I haven't ran into that problem yet?
  8. Please help the newbie!!!!

651 buddy. 751 is higher quality, but there are no doubts in my mind that 651 applies easier (stiffer). For tough jobs with lots of curves, 751 shines way above 651. But for an all around vinyl, it's hard to beat. ORACAL 651
  9. a couple of printing/laminating questions

I have literally made HUNDREDS of reflective decals. It used to be 40% of my monthly income... just reflective decals. And I can tell you, lam won't hurt it a bit. I laminate EVERYTHING now, just because of the abrasion resistance and chemical resistance. I've gotten away with reflective...
  10. Empty Mutoh Eco-Solvent Ink Cartriges

Don't waste your time or money. If there IS someone who refills them, it will just void your warranty and put you at risk of ruining an expensive machine. Don't forget there's sensors in the ink cartridges too. Those are probably hard to be reset... Just throw them in the garbage.
  11. It's good to be new at 60 plus!

Welcome! Not much of a brush junky myself, but man... you're like 10-15 minutes away from me I bet. Oughtta chat sometime.
  12. Odd scripty font

Oh... JUST what I wanted to hear on a job with a $20 design fee budget. Bleck. Anything kinda close? Just to get the same "feeling" across? Maybe it's time to browse through DaFont and see what they've got. None of mine seem to be "groovy" enough. LOL
  13. Is there a difference in flrxi 8?

Not that I've noticed. The only difference between the two that I've noticed is everything got moved around just to make it appear like they made a change (even when they really didn't). Upgrading to 8 was a waste of my time.
  14. heat transfer problem help!

I use the cleat AT60. Works fine for me. I use Colorpint all the time, never had a proble quite like that....?
  15. Odd scripty font

This almost looks like a New Romans font... but it's got some weird scripty stuff going on, and it's a bit fancier. Is it maybe custom done? Any ideas? Here's the link. It's their logo at the top. I have no artwork, just a web addy they gave me. http://www.vanspecialties.com/ Any ideas? I...
  16. Prism Jet Xtra Levels

Would I be a pain in the butt to ask why do you care or why it even matters? When it runs out, it stops and asks for another catridge. You kindly give it another cartridge, and it goes back to printing... :help:
  17. Solara UV

I've seen it print, it's not the fastest. Actually pretty slow IMO. It is cool that it will print direct to substrate, and the colors are fabulous. But for a flatbed... I'd want better speed myself.

  19. Do you use a Falcon Jr and VE Q100? Flexi? Can you help me please?

Make sure your material is straight, and your registration marks are set at .5", not at .2" . If you have trouble doing this, go online to SW online chat help, and a tech can give you a hand. They've been pretty quick at getting to people lately, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  20. new business : devices skinning

I'd suggest a removeable intermediate vinyl w/ laminate. I like Oracal products myself.... so maybe try. Roland Versacamm 30" w/ cutter - $10,999 Oracal 3621 for flat surfaces (removeable adhesive). But for curved surfaces, you have to use a permanent adhesive to get the flexible vinyl...
