i agree with that. the poster is talking about a black head with banding that is gradually getting worse. Sounds like a bad head, damper, cap top, kinda' problem.

hmm. I was not aware that a media feed problem will cause nozzles to clog.

are you using oem inks?

2 pass mode is useless. We run banners at 4 pass. Everything else I run 8 or 16 pass.

it's not a feed problem is the head is misfiring or missing nozzles. how old are you dampers? can you get the nozzles to come back after a cleaning? you should try a head soak in cleaning fluid. pm me if you have any questions.

I recently went through something similar after using a third party ink for three years. all of a sudden they took a dive and I switched back to OEM. I can't afford OEM so I'm trying Solaris ink. We'll see.

I had a job a few years ago to wrap the interior of an arena. I laid the whole job out and had everything ready to go. It was about an 8k job, too. The guy took my watermarked work to another shop and had them done there for something like 5% less. That was a kick in the boys...

make sure your captop aren't shot. if they are they have swelled and are touching the heads. when they touch the heads with pull the ink and you empty your carts.

Epson makes all the heads. You can install any dx4 head in any machine, but I won't be putting a mimaki ranked head in my Roland. I want the proprietary Roland ranking on my head. If someone had a conversion program to take a mimaki head and give you Roland ranking I would use it, but not...
