i like the direction Day Sign Co is going in the first sample they posted. the angle concept that the OP is trying to incorporate just isn't working on this one for me.
Yes Lugg I love all of Mike Jackson's collections top notch stuff...and he is a heck of a nice guy on top of it.
Fred we are all responsible for the decisions we make. If the OP chose to steal content and use it for his own gain...well we are all professionals and he made his choice(s).
I am trying to find a way to ask my next question in the way it is meant. To me I don't understand why the thread was...
great post cpt. i am also disappointed that the before mentioned post was deleted...
there was material in that thread that was of benefit to many members. obviously the op didn't like the responses that he received but if a post is deleted because the op doesnt like the direction the...
there is a reason so many tinters are trying to be sign shops. personally i think there is much more profitable less bs areas a signshop should consider before adding tint. if you were an autobased shop primarily doing auto graphics maybe...but even then i would recommend subbing it out...no thanks.
just because he drives an audi and wears a designer watch doesnt mean he's got the money....the wealthiest people i have ever met drive 20yr old cars and well let's just say they are not into fashion...lol...jc penny's would be fancy clothes.
what is the saying? big hat, no cattle...
my comment is not specific to your design. you are dealing with a company that is marketing it's services to an industry that has professionally trained graphics people this is a situation where it would be in the companies best interest to hire someone who has the skills to represent them...
honestly I have never seen these people as competition. The majority of us are or should be concentrating our efforts on business to business sales. Personally the walk ins that want a birthday banner for their 8 year old or a wedding banner are the biggest time wasters and the most likely to...
i have known about the contracts of giving the equipment in the commercial print industry for consumable contracts, this is the only time i have ever heard of it in the sign industry so yes common in commercial print but very rare within our trade..and having sold and serviced sign supplies and...
yeah i'm not so concerned with screwing through the face of the letters because of the viewing distance, however, i am concerned with the choice of material since it is being mounted to a corrugated building. i would feel better with something more rigid given the size of these letters.
to add as little insult to injury. i know for a FACT a distributor that was given the equipment for their in house sign shop from a sign supply company with a contract in place that they would purchase a set dollar amount of consumables (vinyl, ink, etc) from them per quarter.
myself this is...
sorry for your frustration. having worked on the supply side i can understand how easily it is for errors to take place with the variety of names some people call products, or lack of knowing proper material names, coupled with the overall lack of industry experience and product knowledge of the...
i don't understand myself. i guess it is 'cool' and i am sure your child and his buddies like it but so what you found/pinched/stole..whatever..some artwork, hit the print button and applied to a flat surface. it isn't technically difficult, it isn't an amazing or difficult installation and you...
i wouldn't say that you are a 'big' designer (as big isn't a word i would personally use to describe a skilled designer) Jill but you certainly are great.
around my neck of the woods EVERYONE wants an orange sign...but anyways, do you own a color wheel? if not it is a good resource for identifying complementing colors.
well about the 'biggest' most respected designer on this forum asked you for some more detailed information but you pretty much disregarded him...but you just did a pretty good job of alienating everyone else who has tried to help you...
