I would avoid ebay for buying expensive software with all of the issues with pirated/cracked software. You may also end up getting educational versions that could have upgrade issues later on.
If your font program has the ability to create font samples you can also "print to pdf" to have pages of your fonts to look at - create your own catalog
Adobe Type Manager Deluxe does this as do others.

There's no reason they shouldn't be able to use at least your jpeg - probably the most common file format. If they are using Publisher or Word (eww) they will have to "insert" the picture. In word, it's under insert>picture>from file.
