  1. Engraving business heating up! (see photos)

Good to see! We took the opposite approach to you, we started as an engraving shop and gradually got more into signs. I would love to see some more pics of your shop, it's always nice to see how other people have organized their workspace, I always see a few good ideas!

At what point does a DTG print make sense? if the artwork requires 8-10 different screens and colours would it not be much more cost effective to go DTG? I've never had anything DTG printed before, and my experience with screen printing has been 1-2 colour spot printing. If we were producing...
  4. P95 Acrylic

we paint the back of P95 acrylic all the time with standard latex house paint, you just have to be careful not to scratch it off, but if you do just touch it up, the P95 is so frosted you can't tell where it was touched up anyways. I have also see it screen printed from the back
  5. Hey Betsy from 3M!

No kidding, look at the full wrap for FTD and than the 1-800-flowers partial wrap for $1400 less, if those 2 trucks were parked beside each other, which company would you feel was more professional and which was a all girl punk band?
  6. 1st time for me

$25 an hour?!?! Mind if I call you next time we have a removal to do? We charge $80 an hour for removal for 2 reasons 1) Our shop rate is $65 an hour, add in some chizzlers and rapid remover you are at $85 pretty quick 2) I hate removals so I'm hoping they will pay some highschool kid $50 to...

  8. T-shirt help

about a year ago there was a thread on here showing some shirts that were printed my a MM called "Killer Graphics" they turned out horrible, but in the thread another MM shop ended up doing the job and they turned out fantastic, similar style design to yours as well. I can't for the life of me...

  10. Machine set up...

Sorry my bad i thought it was a per-job basis carry on
  11. Machine set up...

if it's just for one job, would it make more sense to just run the job in a slower, high quality mode to avoid banding? It's slower printing, but probably still faster than farting around with the setup
  12. Fluted Sign Post

also, a 1x6 and a ball end router bit will yield the same results
  13. Hey Betsy from 3M!

Well it's now the end of the day (on the east coast anyways) and no response from Betsy @ 3M
  14. The Royal Wedding

I don't think that is what he was getting at. I think it's true, if this happened tomorrow in the USA (or Canada for that matter) there would be so many protesters/special interest groups using it as a soapbox for whatever agendas they may have. It is nice to see an entire country come...
  15. The Royal Wedding

I watched some of it at breakfast this morning, i'm not all that into the royal family, but William will be our king one day so I guess we have a bit more riding on it.
  16. 3m is offering wraps to endusers

Avery has a long history of screwing the sign industry as well
  17. 3m is offering wraps to endusers

Looks like a great marketing opportunity for Oracal "We won't sell to your customers!"
  18. Signs365.com?

wow... Gino is right, you ordered the wrong material for the job, even if these came in at exactly 18" x 24" they would blow out of the frames.
  19. Signs365.com?

Defending lowballers? if i remember correctly, you are the one who chose to buy from them.
  20. Signs365.com?

So do I, but I don't go to McDonalds expecting a gourmet meal. you ordered signs from a "bottom of the barrel" company that promotes itself as being cheap and fast and act suprized when they sent you crap. Also be careful of customers coming to you with stories of how other sign companies...
