i have the same problems when using Oracal 3651, it is a bit of a pain having to "weed and poke", but I have found that if you wait 24 hours after cutting before you weed it helps alot, I know it's not always an option though.

the local print shop gives us a bunch of mis prints and we use them for paint filling engraved brass plaques. they work very well for squeegeeing paint into the letters.

yeah that has always bugged me, difference in manufacturing cost can't be more than $200 for a bit more metal and longer wires and ink lines.

Not sure if it is still the case but the SP300V does not have adjustable head height like the 54" machine does, it's not a feature we use very often but it's handy for thicker materials and that pre-grommetted banner material.

we cut these on our laser engraver out of 0.020" mylar material, for something that size we would be around $12 - $15 each for that quantity, mind you it's a much easier process with the laser, they come off the machine ready to be shipped.
