  1. Does anyone have Seiko Colorpainter W-64S Service manual???????

I have one for the H104s, and H74s... Pretty much the same procedures. I'm presuming this is for changing the print head? If you want the 104s/74s, message me your E-mail and ill send it over. Password mode: On the printer, in offline state, Hit - cancel, menu, cancel, cancel - It should...
  2. Question Laminating digitally printed vinyl with Rollover table

does your table roller have any cuts or dings in it? thatd cause the issue of it not fully applying. Also... It all depends on the laminate. We have a certain brand we use (The cheap stuff) That'll haze if we dont turn our heat on. It's the only type we use that hazes.... I did a test though, I...
  3. Window Perf on Store Front

Lets agree everyone has their own method. No need to argue about whats right / wrong. Just because I like to have a bleed and trim, doesn't mean everyone who doesn't do it is doing it wrong. You need to find out whats best for you. If the customers happy...then the customers happy. I...
  4. Oki (Seiko) w-64s print head question

Wow, that "Example" formatted badly. Heres an image - The new ones are the ones with the slit. The old ones are continous. I believe you get a new one with the head... at least ours came with it, but ours wasnt OEM from india. http://i.imgur.com/EUgt5Oj.jpg
  5. Oki (Seiko) w-64s print head question

Yes, The new head will work. You do need the new wipers for it... If you install an old wiper, it'll ruin the head. AFAIK, they dont make the old wipers anymore, as the new wipers work with the old heads. Thats the onlything you need to watch out for... its easy to tell though. The new wipers...
  6. CC 2017 update

I just remoted into work and manually installed CM3 also. opened a file... send it to CM3, and it looks like it's fine. A Howto, for anyone who wants to use CM3 on Illustrator 2017 - Goto "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2017\Plug-ins" Copy "cmp_cc7" folder Goto: C:\Program...
  7. CC 2017 update

I was about to mention I was using 2017 with CM fine... but then I saw my cut machine was using 2015, even though 2017 was installed! Which is weird, but oh well... I opened 2017, and no option for CM. could try to manually install the plugin to the CM17 dir... but it might not work. You dont...
  8. Window Perf on Store Front

I've never had a problem with trimming on site. It's not hard, if you have a steady hand...and in this business, you need a steady hand! Could always bring a straight ruler also, if you really, really need to. We just rest our hand on the side of the window and cut... Its always straight with...
  9. Window Perf on Store Front

I'd add .5 inch to the right, and bottom of the image. Cut the top and left to size - Then you use the top/left as alignment, and the images should align perfectly (Providing you cut straight), and you'll have some leftover space on the right/bottom for miscalculations. As for tips... That...
  10. New Printer

Does your supplier have demos setup? Usually they will allow you to bring some product in and some files and do some test prints in each machine. I've never had quality issues with the FB... We use production mode for everything, sometimes bump it up to photo for stuff like photo canvas, or...
  11. New Printer

Thanks for the tip! To be honest, I was thrown into printing 6-7 months ago, and learning most of this stuff myself, since the company's only printer left. I've tweaked the profiles a lot so far... And been pushing to buy a profiler, I guess tomorrow I'll be playing with the rendering intents...
  12. New Printer

can't comment on the others, but I have a HP FB500...We dont use the white ink option, but everything else prints good. The onlything is our reds really suck... But it could be because we dont have proper profiles on them. been using it for a few years, and besides normal maintenance... Nothing...
  13. Question Laminating digitally printed vinyl with Rollover table

Ah, Yes... Printing on lam and laminating with vinyl, thats one thing we do a lot. There ALWAYs seems to be dust in the way when we do it though.. annoying! It should be easy. I'm making it sound scarier than it is. Once you get used to it, it'll be fine. One really, really easy way... is if...
  14. Question Laminating digitally printed vinyl with Rollover table

Yes, That'll work. We do it all the time for 2-3 pieces, when it doesn't make sense to load the Laminator. I've done it a few times... it's nerve wrecking, but I havent messed up yet....usually our sign guy does it. Just keep in mind laminate is more finicky... it'll wrinkle more easily. And...
  15. Question Laminating digitally printed vinyl with Rollover table

Well.i imagine it'd work. Just seems like so much can go wrong. Easy to wrinkle, or get stretch marks... all the moving probably attracts dust... I just don't see how it's faster than an actual laminator. I've only done it a few times. Laminate is so thin I find it hard to do without...
  16. Question Laminating digitally printed vinyl with Rollover table

We have a rolls roller (Looks like rollover) And we can laminate with it. It takes some practice / getting used to though... grab some scrap material and practice? If you get used to it, it can be quite fast. I don't see how it's faster than an actual laminator though? Not sure how the prolam...

  18. Colors not printing correctly Roland VP-540

No offense... But most of what you said is wrong. A properly made profile that's calibrated will be 10x more accurate than what your doing. Your way may be fine with car wraps, and other prints... But when a customer comes in asking for a perfect Starbucks green match, or something else...
  19. Colors not printing correctly Roland VP-540

I'm presuming you don't have custom profiles made up for your machine? You'll need a spectrophotometers, and you'll need to make a profile for every media you use. It's a big learning curve.... Or, you can be like most companies... Print out a huge pantone chart, and go in and match colors...
  20. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

Call your supplier and ask for a sample piece, and try it out? I've got 4-5 different materials out in the shop yard at anytime, bathing in the sun to see how they do. Usually our suppliers will give us a couple SQFT of whatever material we'd like to test. And if not, they'd probably only charge...
