  1. Graphtec CE-6000 Leaving Nicks

Well, TBH, I was just kind of thrown at the machine 4 months ago and told to learn how to use it by myself. So there may be a way... If you find out, let me know! I do know it'll knick it sometimes if the blade depth is too deep... so you can always try to lower it a bit. Thats the only thing...
  2. Graphtec CE-6000 Leaving Nicks

Are you sure its not the very first cut? My FC8000 does it also. Usually when it first starts the cut... I always presumed it's because the blade is rotatable, and the first time it punctures, the blades facing the wrong direction, which causes it to turn as the blade moves. I never actually...
  3. automatic grommet machine

A quick google search found this - http://www.edwardsegalinc.com/index.cfm?Level=3&PG=3&PID=38&CFID=67011902&CFTOKEN=16254195 Youtube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h9bdh4udZ8 I'd say it depends on what your grommeting. We use a pnemuatic machine for grommeting... really easy and...

  5. Any tips for venting & removing printer odor and fumes...?

Iva had my uv for a few years. 99℅ of the time, including during printing there's no smell. When it does a purge.... It smells like rotten eggs. Like really bad rotten eggs. You get used to it. ;p
  6. Question about installation preference regarding inks - NOT about vinyl.

Depends. My shop doesn't like to wait the 2 days before laminating on our solvent printer. It makes the laminate stretch in weird ways. Kind of hard to explain... I haven't tried latex for installing. But not needing to offgass , and it being a little thicker than solvent, I imagine it's...
  7. Cutting Magnetic Circles

I've never done it after it was printed, we'd normally cut it, then print on flatbed, or screen print..m so I can't say on whether it's scratch the image or not. But the, it'd be hard to align it up and cut facing the opposite direction anyways. As for it tearing... I've done it to about 20...
  8. Cutting Magnetic Circles

If your using the same magnetic as me (Magnet on the back, white top) Just flip it over. I don't do any print/cuts with magnetic... just shapes for screen printing, or cut to shape, then throw it in the flatbed to be printed on. Depends on what your doing, but if its just a basic shape like a...
  9. Cutting Magnetic Circles

I just cut them on the grapghtec. You can buy cheap chinese blades for $1.50 each.... works great for stuff like this. I've used them on small letters / other stuff too, and they work great. Not sure how long they last... My graphtecs blade seems to last for years (Only use it a few times a...
  10. Employee Situation

That all depends. Is he a good employee? I mean... he came to you and talked to you about it, so it's not like he was trying to hide it. Sounds like you already lost this customers business due to the flatbed they bought. If they don't hire this guy, they'll probably hire someone else... so...
  11. Vertical lines are grainy?

I had some time to play with it. I tried an automatic adjustment (prints a sample, then you enter values, and it'll put the settings into each quality). Also tried a manual adjustment... same thing. going to try printing uni-directional.. if it was a bidirectional issue, thatd fix it, wouldnt...
  12. Vertical lines are grainy?

That was the first thing I tried. Granted I was working here for a week, and never touched a production printer before that when I did it , so i may have done it wrong. Once this run is done, I'll play around with the indirection settings / alignment once more, see if that fixes it /.. or...
  13. Vertical lines are grainy?

Good afternoon, Back again with another noob question! Most of the stuff I'm learning as I go, and I can google... and search wonderful sites such as this one, but I think these terms are a bit to broad. It keeps bringing up banding lines... which I don't believe this is. On my Seiko H2-74s...
  14. Print head deflection - fixable?

I just went through the exact same thing. Took the head out, put it in a sonic cleaner...flushed some fluid through it, but sadly it didn't fix, and the "Flushing" ended up ruining the head even more. (pushed the liquid through too hard...first attempt at fixing a head! was still worth a try)...

  16. Online wide format prints e-commerce solution needed

  17. Graphtec reads marks, then goes back to origin?

I do think it is the onyx software and not the Cutter I noticed the hot folder was also removed - re added that back. Nothing seemed to work still... until I turned on automatically cut new files. Then when I opened the software, the Cutter immediately asked me where the marker was... I showed...
  18. Graphtec reads marks, then goes back to origin?

I usually leave about 6-10 inches infront, and in back, when doing print + cut. I did print this one justification left...so there is only 1-2 inches over there. (If my memory serves me correct). I'm going to print center tomorrow, see if that'll make any difference. Thanks for the tip, I was...
  19. Graphtec reads marks, then goes back to origin?

Good afternoon! I have a graphtec 8xxx series. I can cut through cut master easily with no problems. But when I print with onyx, and send the file from cut server, half of the time it'll read all the marks, then go back to origin. On occasion it'll work.. after 10-20 tries. I'm at a...
  20. Seiko H2-74S Head aligning

Good afternoon! One color on my CP has really bad deflected nozzles. I was quoted around $4000 for a new one (Canadian), So I figured before I fork out the money for that, I'd try to clean the nozzles myself. I purchased a Sonic cleaner, And plan on trying to sonic clean the heads (Some have...
