me myself and i have always tried to avoid pricing by the sq ft. not all 4X8 (insert any size you wish) signs are created equally.
my goal has always been to help the client identify what the purpose of the sign is, how to communicate that message in the most effective manner in a way that...
we see it every day. new people come here asking us to share our knowledge that has been gained in many cases through multiple decades in the trade yet they lack common courtesy...i am much more willing to share my experience with those that introduce themselves and exhibit common courtesy..it...
i'm literally shaking my head as i read your post...
there are MANY issues here...including lack of an introduction/common courtesy in my opinion when you are hoping that we will all share our hard earned experience/knowledge with you.
that's a great one Pat.
let's see over the years..one morning about 4am i pulled up to my shop and saw a guy standing in my dumpster, it was our main competitor apparently trying to find out who we were working for or what we were working on. a few years after that i went and sold sign...

great introduction/first post...
hdu is the material of choice for most who do dimensional work.
most of us do not throw out hard dollar pricing in the open forums.

the sign was for a gypsy family (their description) and honest to goodness they all claimed to be psychics/hand readers etc. i demanded my 50% discount in cash and when i was leaving the youngest kid there...
welcome . glad someone is taking care of the high school custom car guys i'd rather they went to guys like you than coming into a shop that is focused on selling business to business.
my bet is that if you work it you will make more money than an afternoon job, however, you might want to...
