I pinstriped my mom's brand new car with a permanent marker after seeing an ad in a comic book for getting rich customizing cars. I was 7. I still remember sitting in a chair in the middle of the driveway for HOURS while my parents worked on getting the marker off.
Hey, whores get paid...
So you lost the job because you decided you wanted to enforce permits for the city? That's absolutely ridiculous. I can't understand why you didn't just make the sign, hand it to him, deposit the check and go on with life.
I don't do either in-house but I greatly prefer heat welding over hemming. It's stronger and to me it looks a lot cleaner. When I sub banners out that's the way I have them finished.
In-house we use banner hem tape. No complaints on that end either.
I've done it but it's always depended on the graphics. Sometimes there's just not a good place to split them. I've always squegeed up to the frame, trimmed the vinyl, moved it forward to apply over the face of the window trim, trimmed it again, then move it back to the window and finish it...
My grandmother drank pickle juice every morning for as long as I can remember. She always said if was "for her bowels". Until just now I've never thought about what she meant by that.
There's a whole lot of salt in pickles, though.
Get a couple of quotes on subbing it out.
Figure up your cost to do it in-house, including labor.
Subtract the cost of doing it yourself from the cost of subbing it out and look at that figure. If you can double that figure in the time you'll save then sub it out. If you can't do it in house...
The buckets and PVC will work but you're going to need to run a piece horizontally. The weight of the banner will pull the two poles down if you don't. As far as looks you might want to consider doing a pole pocket instead of tying it. Paint the PVC flat black, wrap the buckets with fabric...
Don't blame lack of use on the film entirely. There's only so much shelf space in supplier warehouses and that's all most people are ever exposed to. The major suppliers all carry the same four brands so that's all you ever hear about.
I personally LOVED using LG film when we could get it...
Maybe I'm wrong but can't they get in trouble for going public with that? I'm just wondering because I know debt collectors have a pretty tight set of guidelines they have to adhere to when they attempt to collect, I would think the same rules would apply to an individual.
Hell no. I spent years listening to an old fart complain that he couldn't paint anymore because they took the lead out of the paint....then I spent years listening to old farts like OP complain that plotters took away all the lettering business....then I spent years listening to the vinyl guys...
