  1. I need to install these 3-color decals today. Quick question on 'where' to layer.

Are these going on glass? Are you going to use clear transfer tape or paper? If on glass, and youre going to use wet method, i would like to use paper. If I was going to use clear, I might go dry.

Ease the edges and then "paint" them with 2 part epoxy.( I've done this and learned it from friends who've been doing it at their shop for years and years.) Next day sand and paint.
  4. Window tint newbie

I would mix up some water with johnsons baby shampoo, or buy app fluid from tint supplier. Tint adhesive is sensitive to PH levels and chemicals to maintain clarity. Johnsons baby shampoo is acid/alkaline neutral. The pre made stuff stays slippery longer, more user friendly, especially for...
  5. Window tint newbie

Hey Bill, a heads up on the tinting - make sure you clean clean clean , and when you go to apply the tint, float the piece (lots of app fluid) into position with the backing intact, trim it to fit, and then peel that backing out from behind the film.Lots of app fluid. You'll want to try to...
  6. Window tint newbie

If it was edge sealed, it would be okay. Being on the outside doesnt expose it to anything more than being on the inside with the exception of moisture.Automotive applications go through temp extremes and variable sun/UV exposure, and mild abrasion from going up and down along weatherstripping...
  7. Prepping unfinished wood for car wrap vinyl

I would think the MacTac concrete wrap film would work on that surface for a reasonable period of time. That stuff is amazing. They will send you a sample for testing.

  16. Paint protection

Hey you guys, it's really really difficult to just 'make a template' with this stuff. Because it needs to be stretched to conform to the surface contour, and the stuff is very stretchy, you cant just "build a template" without a bunch of trial cuts. Handcut is the way to go on this. I am...

  19. Damn, the gecko is good after all!

I'll give you one really good thing to think about. You get in a situation where you are being sued, and if you have Allstate, I guarantee you there is a HUGE legal department going to bat for YOU in a court situation. Not so sure about some of these other companies backing you up....
  20. Damn, the gecko is good after all!

Hey you guys, I am an insurance adjuster for Allstate, and I'm not saying this because I work for Allstate, but you really need to look at your coverages closely. THERE IS A REASON WHY THESE INSURANCE POLICIES ARE SO AFFORDABLE. Read the fine print....
