  5. Copyright Question

Nope. But it shows people doing what could be a copyright violation, but not necessarily. A play list merely calls to files already resident on the other phone, which may well be there legally.
  6. Taping Vinyl Rolls Not In-Use (and other media)

    Thanks, times 100!
  7. Taping Vinyl Rolls Not In-Use (and other media)

These are the bomb: http://www.signwarehouse.com/p-HT-YT-SPEEDCLIP-10.html They won't pucker the vinyl like rubber bands, nor waste tape and leave residue behind like taping, but best of all they're fast -- on and off. Consider how many times you swap rolls every day, and then measure the...
  8. Help!! ASAP Help!!

Hi Mike, It might be the backing somehow affecting the media-out sensors. Try taping over them with little scraps of vinyl, albeit, you'll need to disable the pre-load / pre-feed fuction and be sure the media you load is sufficient for the cut-job, so it doesn't run out mid-job. Best,
  9. Logo Vectorising

A chiseled type would nicely emulate that effect, in one-color vinyl. In fact, I suspect is was a chiseled type later dolled-up in Photoshop. Some examples are here including one that's downloadable for free: http://mr-clipart.com/int/fonts.php
  10. cutting a shape laminate sticks, cutter skips

Yes; try a 60 degree blade. I think that'll solve the issue. Edit: Oops. +1 to GVP.
  11. How long to remove full wrap?

It depends on how quickly the adhesive cures, but one year is still pretty easy, generally speaking. So I agree with all here: no heat, which might leave more adhesive residue behind that'll have to be cleaned off. Just a slow, smooth pull, so hopefully the adhesive lifts off with the vinyl. IMO

  13. Durability of Thermal Resin prints

Thermal resins have denser pigments, since suspending them in plastic can have greater density than pigments in a carrier fluid, such as solvent, eco-sol, etc. That makes them hold up better in sunlight, and thus are rated 3 to 5 years on vertical installs. (flat on a roof in Phoenix, maybe 1...
  14. Commercial location vs home page based shop

Overhead is an issue, if it's beyond your reach, obviously. If so, the decision to be home-based is self-made. However, if it's in the budget, a retail location provides you the very same advantage you're selling to your customers: market presence, and reaching out to all passers-by. In...
  15. vinyl options??

Hi Shelle, The "newer" (relative concept, since TT printers are a bit long in the tooth by today's standards) Summa printers are a bit more flexible, with the sticky roller that removes most of the debris from the vinyl before laying down the resin ribbons. So you might have some luck with...

  17. Signwarehouse Support

Thank you for the compliment, Coloradosigns. But to my knowledge, there's not another dealer in our industry doing well over 1,000 orders a day from a single facility taking orders online and over the phone. Perhaps there is, but I do know which that would be. Moreover, we have many...

  19. Flexi 10.5, Windows 7 and a Roland PNC-1000

When using a USB port emulator, the trick is in getting the port state settings properly matched to the cutter's default, since the USB is not really USB, but merely a emulating a Centronics Parallel port. Calling Roland should get you to someone who can tell you the correct settings.
