  1. Learning the DC4SX

35 lines per inch; double-dot screen. :) Edit: forgot to add. Printing CMY gets richer colors and saves a bundle on ribbon. CMYK delivers better accuracy (color) and more detail in lighter toned areas, but can make banding more apparent, and of course uses more ribbon.
  2. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

If only ... LOL!!!! Kidding, sort of. CS folks are actually doing as best as can be hoped, since even a 1% screw up rate on +1000 orders per day (we're actually tracking it; it's under 1%) means no company on planet earth screws up more royally or more often than, SignWarehouse. So they (CS...
  3. X6 slowing down?

Windows 7 / 64 bit is probably what X6 thrives on. Just guessing. Meanwhile, your X3 is (was) newer than my CorelDRAW, which does everything I need with speed, ease and great results. The draw-back is sometimes having to ask that a file be back-saved to 11. I doubt you'd have much issue...
  4. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Copy that; and indeed, it's my pleasure (and paycheck) to talk about SignWarehouse. :) :cool1:
  5. How do you manage an employee who knows more than you?

If anyone has a mind to go into this business for themselves, cutters and now even printers are pretty attainable. My ilk abound. :) What's a heckuva lot harder to find, is an employee who can conduct your business as well or better than you do yourself. In fact, this person probably...
  6. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

That's a part of what we do and have done successfully over the years. But a much bigger aspect is serving the needs of sign makers wishing to evolve or expand their businesses: printers, laminators, laser engraving, awards ... and increasingly, since it's about double the size of the...
  7. How do you manage an employee who knows more than you?

Give him / her a raise and/or an equity position in the company. :)
  8. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Flatbeds, for cutting, no. But Hybrids for printing onto rigid substrates, yes. Meanwhile, specifics by product / manufacturer is not something I'm premitted to share, pubicly. But indeed, we sell many printers, but far more cutters. I'd venture to guess that more Vinyl Express-branded...
  9. X6 slowing down?

Just being online can add more stuff running in the background. CorelDRAW, like Photoshop, is a memory hog. Up your RAM to your computer's max capasity; then allocate a large percentage of it to CorelDRAW and you should be okie doke.
  10. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Our eBay specials, while popular, are a pretty small part of overall business. And indeed, in equipment sales, we're the highest volume dealer, to best of my knowledge.
  11. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Price isn't everything, but when it comes to supplies, it's nearly everything. LOL Feller's is tightly focused on being the wrap supply end all, and can leverage some great pricing. But they also focus on the width of their equipment. Meanwhile, no one sells equipment like SignWarehouse...
  12. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Call our sales folks at 800 699 5514. We'll meet or beat the best price for same / equal product. :)
  13. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Our distribution agreements do not permit us to disclose the manufacurer of the materials we private label. But you'll like it, and the 48 inch width :) Best Regards, Jim / SW
  14. Issues with Summa Cut D520

In CoCut, the port state settings need to match the cutter's proper settings. Also confirm that the cutter is in DMPL and not HPGL mode. You can check that with Summa Cutter Control, which should be installed when you add cutter tools.
  15. Y-Axis Confirmation

Your cutting software should poll the width when then cut/output dialogue box pops up ... either automatically, or when you click a button. In that way, the software can maximize material usage when paneling, and also warn you that the cut job will be segmented.
  16. Pantone Colors and Matthews Paint Matching

Bring up the black, 10 or 15 percent?
  17. our new website

Agreed. Slow loading, but cool for all who are patient (not all are) Also, I'd add that navigation should be where people look: top or near the top and not the bottom of the page. Put a table of contents at the end of your book and few will read it; ditto on Web pages -- put navigation at the...

In short, they're licensed for your use, but we retain ownership in the images. So use by others needs to be licensed by us (buy a copy). You can use it but not distribute them since we own the images on the disc. What you create with our property is your property. Cut stickers and sell as many...
