  1. Can anyone tell me where to get these clips for realtor signs?

I ordered some of these a few years ago, and I can't think of where, but I clip them on to all of my realtor frame signs that go out, and I'm finally running out and need to replenish. If anyone knows the real name for them or where I can pick some up I'd appreciate knowing.
  2. Marketing! How do you market your business?

Same as these guys. Family owned and been around since 1980. I've owned the last 12 years, and I think I've advertised one time, I know my grandparents did it very little in the years before that. I'm only a one man shop, so it doesn't take a lot to make me busy, but what these guys said...
  3. Suggestions New Latex Printer. Either Mimaki or HP

I'm running a 310 and so far, pretty in love with it compared to my old solvent JV33. Print quality is way better, it's prob not quite as fast when printing high quality stuff, but the quality is a lot better. I did just dumb a profile down to 4 pass for my temporary cheap stuff that doesn't...
  4. Applying graphics to 4x8 sheet by ones self

I'm in this boat a lot lately as we've picked up a new auction company and all they do is farm land, and 4X8's, so we'll do 2-3 of these per auction, double sided. What I've started doing (we manually laminate with the BS as well) is I'll cut a small slice out of the liner on the back with my...
  5. Anyone know where to get the stripper pole?

Well, I actually gave a fabrication friend a call today, and I'm going to swing in and get a new ratchet and socket that's big and drop it to him tonight, and I should have one made tomorrow. I know it's probably not hard to do if you have a few machine tools. Should be a cheap way to go and...
  6. Anyone know where to get the stripper pole?

Have a HUGE need for the stripper pole vinyl remover with a client that I picked up, and I'm losing my mind just rolling a tube with my arms crawling all over the sign trying to remove 4X8 prints. Anyone know anyone that would still have these in stock? It appears as though they're out of...
  7. Anyone seen this graphics kit? Looks like Restylers Choice, but I'm not finding it

Trying to find matching graphics for a local body shop. Normally I've always found anything with flames and checkers on Restylers Choice, but I'm not coming up with it this time. Has anyone got any leads on this kit?
  8. HEALTH INSURANCE!........How I loathe you!

Just found out yesterday ours is going up 50% this month....awesome.
  9. Suggestions Brick Wall Vinyl?

You charge whatever you have to...if the customer doesn't like the price, let them walk. Use the right materials to do the job easily and make it last and look good.
  10. Big Squeegee's

If you get the aluminum ones, make SURE that it's TOTALLY flat on your table. I got them and they didn't flex any and so it didn't laminate well on my slightly bowed tables. Ordered the plastic ones and they flex just a little to contour with my table.
  11. removing scratches from oracal 210 gloss

Long as it's just fine scratches from a squeegee or something like that, we always torch every one that leaves the shop. You can tell where you've been because the scratches just erase as you go.
  12. Thinking about setting up at a marina next summer...

Yeah, maybe just cutting stuff is the way to go...I don't know. The printer is a big deal, but you could crank out any color and not have to carry any other vinyl other than a roll of you're favorite printable vinyl, and a roll of laminate. I'm not really thinking of doing anything massive...
  13. Thinking about setting up at a marina next summer...

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to decide...do I want to deal with these guys, not really...but if they can pay for a new toy or something that's fun on the back side, I'm willing to do it. I would assume most of these boats will be in the water, yes, so losing tools, hitting a moving target, etc...
  14. Thinking about setting up at a marina next summer...

I've often had this thought go through my head of going to our local marina on a holiday weekend, or sometime that's crazy busy down there, just for two days, seeing if it's worth my time with the local boating community, and then returning back to normal life the next Monday. I have a guy...
  15. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

I mix Arlon laminate with Oracal, 3M, and Avery all the time. As long as it's cast with cast and calendered with calendered, most people say it shouldn't be a problem. Been doing it probably 5 years now and never had a problem. As far as the Avery discussion, I stayed away from it forever...
  16. Cool Signs in Montgomery, TX, doesn't pay their bills

According to their website, you must have gotten the "green alternative"...unfortunately they forget to tell everyone that the "green" is cash.
  17. Inc. Ltd. Co.

I get this a lot too. Hey, can you totally make my design off center and look like garbage because the INC or LLC needs to be as massive as the name of my business. Makes me nuts. Also, "what do you think...I should probably have my phone, email, website and fax on my side door, right?"...
  18. Looking for input regarding going 100% mobile - no brick-and-mortar

I'd thought about doing something like this in the summers, but mainly on a Fri/Sat/Sun setup. I could care less if I have walk-ins or not, because that's not my business model, but most of our work comes in the form of an email from customers we've had for 10-15 years. I think there's a time...
  19. That's the ticket..........................................

Takes me back to the ole days when "Cappy" posted like 10,000 new threads in 2 months or something crazy like that.
