  1. Front-adhesive techniques?

Confused...what's to line up? You overlay just like laminating. If it's a print and cut, just overlay with white within the printer's marks. I just did a similar job, all on a 1/2" acylic lobby sign.
  2. Laminate Nightmare on Perf

Hmmm...well one thing I have noticed, over the years, is that even with 50/50 and optically clear laminate, immediately after installation it's a little foggy or muddled (still can make out light shining through, but not clear). But a day or two later it settles and is perfectly fine. I had a...
  3. Laminate Nightmare on Perf

Maybe you are using the wrong type of perf?? 50/50? 70/30? 70/30 is not recommended for vehicles...and is harder to see through (only 30% visibility). Even with optically clear lam, it is hard to see through.
  4. How do you manage an employee who knows more than you?

I am wondering...when you say the employee knows more than you....do you mean has more experience/years in the industry? Or know more than you regarding running a sign shop, managing other employees, etc. etc.? I have been in the business nearly twice as long as my employer....but would I say I...
  5. Clear Air Release Vinyl

Mac - Tac ( I know....crap vinyl) makes one that actually works pretty well...It has a slight cross hatch pattern (like old 3M IJ-180). Be Free Air Release it is called I believe.
  6. Brushed Aluminum Outdoor Panels - where to find?

There is brushed silver di-bond...use it all the time.
  7. do you sale your "juice"

First off, I don't "sale" anything to anyone. I "sell" them things. Second....I don't sell anything that I purchased to make signs. People call all the time wanting a piece of coro for their kid's guinea pig or a sheet of plywood so they can hand paint a sign.Once I mark it up to what we want...
  8. Application tape dispenser?

Here's ours....it's made form packing tape handles! Just took the handles off, bolted on to 2 blocks of wood, and clamped to the table. The tension on these is adjustable and easy to change rolls.
  9. Window Perf Virgin

Low tack transfer tape works well for non-lam perf, especially if you're installing in the sun. For really curvy car windows, no lam is best. Just warn your customers that rain will fill up those holes, limiting visibility.
  10. Yard signs sticking together

Pretty common problem...we just slip the vinyl backer pieces in between them.
  11. Wrap Material - Hate to start a new thread but...

Either the above mentioned 3M combo or Avery 1005 SuperCast with 1360 Lam.....Avery set might be a little cheaper and is comparable. I personally like installing the Avery better.
  12. Wholesale supplier for fold up camping/tailgating chairs?

Shoot go to any Walmart...they have all colors, and cheap.
  13. Flexi is completely mental..or I am!!

Flexi does that to us....changes kerning from one computer to another. One person can create a file with a particular font that has kerning adjusted, then if I open that file on my computer, yes, the font is there, but my kerning may not match theirs so it can be all jacked up. I wish Flexi...
  14. PVC Material

Regal, Reece, Grimco,....any sign supply or plastics wholesaler. How does anyone in the sign biz not have this type of supplier already???? SMH
  15. What is this font?

    Thanks!
  16. form to keep track of jobs in a day

We use Google Docs....every computer is logged into a spreadsheet document with sections for jobs in production, materials to order list, install list, etc. Works pretty good. Everyone can update in real time, check off completed jobs, add notes, etc.
  17. What is this font?

Can't for the life of me.....
  18. Sooper Tack Roller Reviews?

We use a PCR roller all the time, for all prints before laminating. You would be surprised what it can pick up that you don't see on your prints. Most all suppliers should carry them....here's pic and info from Advantage.... http://www.advantagesignsupply.com/GMP-PCR-Roller-Kit
  19. Oracal 651 colors downgraded to 4 year durability??

I tell most people that intermediate is 2-3 year realistically anyway...and go with high performance vinyl.
  20. Vinyl for cars

Dude really? This is in the newbie forum, so maybe, JUST maybe, he is NEW to this. Stop being a d*ck to everyone. I see your responses to people all over and you really need to find a new attitude.
