Not necessarily true. The lines should have filled up without air in them when you filled them back up either with the syringe or using the fill option. If air is in the line with ink, it IS leaking. An air leak will keep it from printing. If it does print at all the ink will soon fall out...
Air in the ink line is from an air leak. The damper may have a crack in the threaded area or the line may have got kinked enough to form a hole. Do not use a wrench to tighten the hose fitting. Finger tight only.
There is a little rubber washer that goes on the end of the hose before putting...
Pull the dampers off and work some solvent through the head with a syringe. It don't hurt it any to pull air through the head so don't fret none if you do. Put a piece of vinyl under the head and over the rollers to keep the mess to a minimum. While you have the dampers off, pull the ink up...
Gee, Maybe I should start repairing machines rather than making Big Squeegees.
It is not hard to save a head. I have got heads going again after they set 4 months on one machine and 2+ years on another. The first thing to do if a machine has been sitting long enough for it to not print is to...
Check out the links in my signature. It don't matter which way you go with the Big Squeegee. No wet apply and it is fast. A 15" square takes about one minute to apply.

Thanks for the good words folks. The answer to this question is in the archives but...
Thanks for the back up on this one Gerry. It's been a long time since I ran one of these on a day to day basis as I know you do. I cringed when he said he dried the lines out.
First of all, it is obvious that you don't know how the machine works. what you have done so far is drain all the ink back to the carts. I'll try to explain the process.
The ink is sucked through the cleaning station. The cleaning station is where the heads rest upon when it is in the home...
It may be easier to have someone print out some of your designs. Saves a lot of time until you get some practice. A lot of these nice people would be more than happy to get some actual work.
Welcome from OK.
The dripping is a common problem. but the problem may be the wipers, not the head. Have you replaced the wipers? Do they work properly?
The settings for ink density may be off a little allowing more yellow to be used. also check the yellow feed line for air leaks.
A local sign shop had a Mutoh 6 color printer setting in their garage covered with dust. I asked them what they were going to do with it and ended up repairing it for them.
Got all colors back to 100% except black which was about 70%. After I got it going I found out that it sat in a barn...
