  1. Dry erase material that looks like a chalkboard?

I've made white dry erase signs for years, but a good client has just requested a dry erase menu board which looks like a chalkboard but you use "chalk pens" to write on it? But it's not a chalkboard. I'd like to help them out but not sure WTF they are talking about or where to get such a...
  2. Crazy concept

The one in post #24 looked much better, particularly the top portion.
  3. I need to rant!

  5. Ideas for family reunion banner?

I'm getting some good vibrations...hahaha thanks ABP. These cousins are from San Diego, my uncle moved out there, had 10 kids, retired from the Navy etc.
  6. Ideas for family reunion banner?

Some of the relatives would love to see illegal psychotropic drugs depicted, but my brother is the magistrate. I think the biker theme would be really popular, but not as much fun as the beach party theme. This will all be happening in a crappy little picnic grove so the bike theme might be better.
  7. Ideas for family reunion banner?

I think you might be onto something. I know that theme would be super popular with some of my kinfolk. All I could think of was Beach Party type stuff retro 60s my fave. Also attaching last year's banner. Was going for a more family crest idea then. :thankyou:
  8. Ideas for family reunion banner?

I have none yet, but I'll post something once I get a suggestion. The theme for this year's reunion is "West Coast" because I have a few cousins who are coming in from California, something which only happens every few years and sometimes decades. Just what does "west coast" make you think...
  9. Crazy concept

Try it without the rule lines and the stitch look likes at the border. Try bringing the top elements down into the rectangle so you are not chopping off the scrolls. Try the ampersand in gold so it's not so dominant.
  10. Crazy concept

bob, I said they were just simple shapes. How about this?
  11. A crappy way to end a wedding?

I just can't with anything in this post. Love....Jill
  12. Crazy concept

Blecch on the Algerian and double blecch on the stretching. I think it's too formal looking for fairground use, I think you need to think more fun. The colors are fine, the concept is not appropriate. Love....Jill (I was thinking a wrap looking like what you'd get after you ate pizza and...

Oooh, a guy who knows how to handle a mahlstick. :) I usually don't use one. Only when I want to look like a signpainter!

Good for you! Are you going to donate it to charity? :) Love....Jill
  18. New Sign Software

I'm a Gerber user since GA 6.2 and was able to kinda sorta learn Corel, just enough to be dangerous. Since learning Corel I still go back to Gerber for certain things, but have been pleased with Corel. Got rid of my Signmaker 4E last year and now use a Graphtec plotter, and can cut directly from...
  19. Buying our first home

I would always go for an older home if possible. Besides the charm and history, I think they are so much better built than a new cookie cutter plan-style house. Be careful with the forclosure type purchases though (I am no real estate expert) My son is looking to buy a home and he's toured two...
  20. any NEAT ideas?

Burn 'em (they go up FAST!) and make s'mores. They will taste a bit off tho. Or sell 'em to CriCutters for big money. Love....Jill
