  1. ugly?

The choice of fonts would be great if it was for a Russian co-op natural food market. :ROFLMAO:
  2. Computer for new Printer?

Since i switched to using Illustrator and Photoshop 64bit i have no more "not enough memory" problems. I work on files well over 1 gig in size and working smoothly requires a 64bit operating system with allot of ram, fast hard drive (solid state) and a decent video card. Printer speed has...
  3. ugly?

It "looks" nice but is hard to recognise quickly. Kind of defeats the purpose of a good logo. You should not have to spend time figuring out what it says. All i see is MAR KET. After a few seconds i think to myself MAR KET 32? and still not sure i got it. It was thanks to your description that...
  4. Early Christmas present!

Very well put! My sentiments exactly. One of these days i'll buy myself one of these machines. I'll sit back, crack open a beer and think of Watsons Signs and how it feels good in investing in new tools for the minions. Speaking of which ... I have to buy myself one of those Fletcher...
  5. Early Christmas present!

Those are great reasons to go and buy nice new tools! I have no questions it will pay for itself. After all you will be using it on a daily basis. And from the looks and comments this thing should last many years. For my shop though ... The laminator i have and the way we run prints...
  6. Early Christmas present!

I was also wondering about this piece of equipment. Looks really well built and i am sure is probably an easier learning curve than using a laminator for the same purpose. But for that price ... I'll buy me two more Royal Sovereigns and still save 5k
  7. How young is too young

Congratulations! You can use him as a paper weight for now :ROFLMAO:

  9. Help Wanted - Ottawa-Gatineau area

My shop is in Gatineau (Hull sector). I am two minutes away from the bridges in Ottawa. Looking for someone with at least 1-2 years experience. Job description: - Operating a vinyl plotter. Laminating digital prints. Cutting/Painting wood and other types of rigid materials. Installing...
  10. Green masking tape

Uline will charge you a dollar for the roll of tape but then they will want over 50 bucks for shipping. Enquired a couple of times about some stuff but it is far from a good deal in the end. Plus last time they sent me x4 of those big catalogues on the same day. They went directly into the...
  11. Trying to identify metal post and locate supplier

For my childhood memories ... I had to do a search. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Barn_(restaurant) Loved their chicken in the barn box.:thumb::ROFLMAO:
  12. Arlon Carbon Fibre WTF

To bad it's taking so long to get a response from your dealer. The "send to the States to check the adhesive" sounds like an excuse to me. I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Out of all the air release vinyls i have tried. I find Avery to work best for me. I love their adhesive and how it...
  13. finishing/de-burring diabond/maxmetal & such

We use either a file or if we have allot to do, a quick pass with an electric sander works just fine.

  15. And that's why people don't like the cloud.....

I don't use the cloud service but i sure do love using the latest updated versions of their software. I have to many clients that send me their artwork and having the latest version of Adobe programs sure helps allot. I couldn't afford using older versions anymore.
  16. my new logo

You would look the part if you had half a smile with a broken tooth! Your picture looks like a snot nosed explorer. Not tough enough.
  17. Free Stuff For Y'all

Thanks allot for the templates. Verry kind of you!
  18. Window perf...... to laminate or not?

That's my thinking as well. Also ... To make installing non laminated window perf easyer, premask it. That way you can use a hard squeegee and really press it down.
  19. 72 Vs. 150ppi?

Just my opinion i am by no means an expert on color. Like J Hill says. RGB has a larger color space than CMYK. You'll hit more colors. Richer blacks. As far as resolution. If i am printing a photo i will go as low as 85dpi and it looks great. 72dpi is "ok" though. Now if i am printing small...
  20. New machine arriving Tuesday. Need to know which ink configuration I want. Help!

Mine is the VS-540 ... Not the "I" version. What i was using before was a SC-500 (CMYKlclm) and it is still in use. It 's not fair to compare the two since i think my biggest improvement was the RIP program. My older printer is being run by Flexi v.7 and my VS is through Versaworks...
