Just my opinion on my new VS-540 (Bought last year).
I got the x2 CMYK configuration.
Colors are freaking great! No problems hitting reds.
Greys were touchy at first. But i am now familiar with what is working good and am getting great results.
Love the speed!
My only complaint...
One thing i noticed that was mentioned:
Addition of a continuous bead of high-strength silicone or outdoor grade foamed weather seal is now recommended to prevent wind gust blow-out of media inserts.
Maybe if you used a sturdier material like aluminum/pvc composite, such blow-outs would be...
You can apply many types of effects to type and shapes (ex. distortions, round corners). Once you are satisfied with your results you can select "Expand Appearance" and your effects will become permanent. If you don't expand it you should be able to see the object's effects in it's appearance...
Happy 4th of July to our neighbours down south!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
I think i can smell the BBQ smoke in the air coming up from you guys. :toasting:
I understand your point.
You should put them on this time (expecially since he's a top 5 customer). Do it right and be done with it so you can move on to his more profitable work.
Whatever price i get from a supplyer i just mark it up accordingly.
Good customer or not he is chosing a product that you do not stock and for such a small amount it is understandable that it is priced at a premium.

I have printed on laminate before. Nothing large but it did print nice and after lamination i assume it would last just as long as regular printing media.
I wouldn't want to start to have to stock 2mil. clear vinyl.
Like i said ... I don't blame him. Blah Blah Blah it will affect his business and all of that. But think about it for a second.
This is a lunch place.
If their food is any good it won't matter what kind of sign is on there. They will survive. Now i am sceptical. If their mentality about...
It sucks but what can you do. I don't blame the client going for "free" but it will reflect on his business. And as others have pointed out. What will happen in a year or so when that sign will start to be affected by the weather. Chances are you will get a call at some point.
This isn't new...
Gerber products are great ... When everything is working.
Once a problem arrises then it is more difficult because of their proprietary system.
Nothing against them really. I just like open source.
That's what i was thinking.
10 bucks an hour will get you nothing but pain unless you have allot of wood to cut and paint, floor sweeping and maybe if your lucky someone to change the roll of toilet paper.
I don't cary it ... It's to easy to damage. I'll buy it if needed but most of my customers will go for either Syntra (Komatex or whatever else) or if they want something thick, Gatorboard.
