  1. My first business window job!

You did a really nice job, especially considering that it was your first! I think even more importantly is that you are bring good design sensibilities to the table. So many people get into this business and have NO CONCEPT of design. You did a great job not only with the installation, but with...
  2. bar logo - help

This isn't a logo - it's a sign. Create the logo first. THEN create a sign featuring that logo.
  3. Gymnasium floor....

Most gym floors that are having graphics applied before clearcoat is laid down are PAINTED - not vinyled.

  5. Thanks a LOT,,NOT

Joe has a much better way with words than i do - but I agree 100%. I would have said that some people have **** in their Wheaties on a daily basis, and therefore want to **** in everyone else's. :peace!:
  6. Ghosting pictures?

I think I may have something somewhere. Once I get to the shop I will try and dig it up for ya. One thing though that I would recommend - I make every client who wants us to re-letter and existing panel or their supplied substrate sign off on a waiver stating that we offer no warranty and cannot...
  7. The words none of us want to hear!

Worst. Thought. Process. Ever. Either someone recognizes you as a professional or they don't. It's that simple. I view myself as a professional. Just like a lawyer or doctor does. I don't presume to go to the doctor and tell HIM what to prescribe me. Why do you think it's ok for a layman to...
  8. How would YOU wrap this?

Regarding the wing, I would dothe bottom with one piece, thenthe top with one piece and overlap it about 2 inches so that it appears to be seamless.
  9. I need to install these 3-color decals today. Quick question on 'where' to layer.

Practice DRY!!!!!!!!!! Hing on anything longer than one outstretched arm. If it's a flat surface, a vertical hinge, and if it is a curved surface (convex, like a car door), horizontal hinge.
  10. Simple die-cut quote

This is, quite literally, some of the worst advice I have ever seen. It is THIS type of thinking that has crushed pricing in our industry. Oh...It's a slow month. Let's sell 2'x6' banners for $25!!!! YAY!!!! If you sell on price, you will DIE on price. Terrible, TERRIBLE, advice...
  11. I need to install these 3-color decals today. Quick question on 'where' to layer.

Couple of things... Squeegee-wise: Get a Geek Wraps squeegee. Expensive, but hands down the best squeegee's I've ever used. Bubbles/installation: PRACTICE!!!!! If you just cut and tape some random large shapes and practice with them on a smooth substrate, you should be able, within a...

    Newman? Just...Newman?
  13. Pole top street sign brackets

Anyone have a good source for these? I've always used Grimco in the past, but I refuse to give them another dime.
  14. What happens when vinyl & laminate don't match?

Cast and Calendered vinyl have different shrink/expansion rates. Over time, this will lead to cracking, or more likely, separation at the edges.
  15. FLA unearthed multiple violations of the labor law at Apple factories

Sure would. Foxxconn existed long before apple became and client and will long after Apple is no longer a client. Instead of getting you fairness panties in a bunch, do some research. I'd venture to guess that Foxxconn made components for 80% of the electronics in your house.
  16. FLA unearthed multiple violations of the labor law at Apple factories

I laugh every time some talks about "Apple's Factory". Apple doesn't HAVE a factory. Try sub out the creation of their components.
  17. Is this a font?

Looks like a thickened up version of Haymaker. http://www.losttype.com/font/?name=haymaker
  18. Graphtec 5500 not completing job...

Actually, taking out the blade makes 100% sense. I'm so frazzled I didn't even think about it. I've been here 60 hours already this week, and no end in sight....Ugh.
  19. Graphtec 5500 not completing job...

Yup. It's killing me. And because it's reflective I can't just lay a big 9" stripe and then go back and accurately cut out the door handles and rubber stops.....
