Illustrator and Photoshop are industry standards. So much so that Adobe products are the de facto software in schools and colleges. I'm not saying they are the only game in town though.
You could use FlexiSign or Corel software. Joe Diaz does absolutely incredible work with Corel. XARA is a...
White reflective with cut gold overlay film. That's if I understood your question correctly.

Depends on how your market drives your shop.
For our market speed is more important than gamut or being able to hit a perfect gray. Been printing for about 10 years and I don't get asked too often to hit PMS or other colors.
D.A.(dual action sander) is what I use. Start out with 320 grit and move up from there. I'll finish with 2000 minimum then polish with automotive compound and wool buff. All the finer grits are done wet. Keeps the paper from loading up and material stays cool.
If there are large areas you...
Good point. ^^^^
My first printer was a POS thermal. Got an attorney involved early on. Still took about six months to get things resolved. Ended up with them overnighting their latest model from Taiwan. I sold it on eBay without even opening the box.
Worst part is I the clients I lost...
Not sure if this will help because it's a panel.
I printed around 5 or 6p.m. the day before, applied to panel around 9a.m. following morning, rolled on a coat of ClearStar and delivered that afternoon.
With vehicles I would stay away from liquid coatings unless it's for flat surfaces like box...
Been using Arlon 6000XRP for a few years now. We print for another shop and their installer loves it. Huge savings over 3M's 180 kits too. We've used Oracal 3751 kits and those were good also. YMMV
We run Eco-Print from Imprintables on our Roland. Prints great and cuts like "butta". Folks at Imprintables are top notch too. They take the time to answer my dumb questions.
Note: We only use Eco-Print for short runs or doing comps. Large orders get subbed out to a screen/dye sub specialist.
Midwest Sign will have it. http://www.midwestsign.com/locations/map_of_locations.asp
Another thing to look at is your local shop that does all the massive fabrication/installs. I have a working relationship with a huge local shop and can buy materials from them.
You guys are missing the bigger picture. Regardless of the fact that these bottom feeders don't stay in business long they still take your business away for that period of time. And due to the ease of buying equipment some one else will give it a shot along with a bunch of others.
It is a...
Welcome to the world of pure competition. Commoditization also plays a major role. Yes, wraps are fast becoming a commodity.
Pure Competition
- low barriers to entry, many choices, no business has dominance
- many companies competing and nobody has a significant advantage

Middle pic looks like starvation. Might be some junk floating around in one or more of the lines. I'd start with a full flush while watching the lines to see what comes out. Make sure the ink train is fully functional and work forward from there.
Hmm...have the ribbon cables been replaced...
Local dealer will be able to get it for you. No ordering a special color, trying to find a font, no layout, cutting, weeding or taping. What's your time worth?
We have an older version of Flexi and have the same issue from time to time. We click Unmask then delete the black background. May have to do it a second time. We have no clue why it does it with some files.
If I understand what you're asking here's my stab at it:
Make a rough shape on a sub layer then use drop shadow or inner glow. Manipulate until you see what you want.
There's another way too, but you would need to use PhotoShop and a Wacom Bamboo. Dead simple and very precise.
I second the table saw. I use 7-1/4" Oldham X-Cel Carbide circular saw blades on my table saw. They have a super narrow kerf and go through ACM like a laser. Amazing on plastic too. I have one blade for each material.
You'll be fine at 72ppi. Just did a 10' banner starting with a 300ppi image. When scaled to full size we were under the magic 72ppi, but it looked great and client was very happy with the result.
Another option is to use Perfect resize from OnOne to "up-res" the image. It's what we use and...
Time to lawyer up. I had a printer that turned out to be a lemon and the only thing that got action was my attorney. Big corporations have a habit of running you around until you just give up.
Have your attorney draw up a letter(well worth the money) that includes all the things in Gino's...
Buy some 2x4's and some 1/2" EMT(electrical conduit). Use a paddle bit and drill holes(big enough for the EMT) in the face of the 2x4's at 10 degree angle. Paint or stain 2x4's and attach to wall. Cut whatever length of EMT you want to hold your rolls and insert in holes. Done.
Dirt cheap...
