  1. Vinyl Express R31 vs Desay Master Tiger 1000

Yes. Much. We've sold thousands and have many happy customers. You can ask and see some of the comments here: http://www.signwarehouse.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?30-Vinyl-Cutting-Q-amp-A I agree with others that our EnduraCUT, and Graphtec OEM cutters are better. But for the price, R...
  2. $400 Wraps!?!?!?!?! oh my

Is this site a spoof??? Every sample photo shows errors. Something doesn't wash. It's as if someone put the site up to make cheap wraps seem like junk. For $400, it should be junk. But showing it is junk seems suspicious. I can't image these guys (guy; and a neice) are for real.
  3. which better plotter?

Pepperoni is an impulse item while shopping at a convenience store -- and has no business being on pizza!! Ital. Sausage; Mush; Tons of Pepper Flakes Also, Graphtec best plotter; Espon GS best printer, IMHO
  4. Mutoh VJ 1204 Dropping Data?

That looks like a RIP error. So I think Flexi is the culprit, and no doubt has something to do with Win7. Have you contacted SAi support? We have a Flexi knowledgebase which has some info, here...
  5. Fellers

Thanks ya'll for saying nice things about SW. And I too appreciate that they care enough to devote resources to S101 -- I need the paychecks!!!! :^) But as a cataloger myself (20+ years), I have watched the Ameriban come Fellers Catalog from the beginning. And I think it's smart to make...
  6. System/Software for graphics industry

+1 for Estimate. Great for this industry.
  7. Please Help!!

Sounds unusual. Most JPGs are RGB and working in an RGB color space is what most people do, even outputing to CMYK. So if it's just JPGs, something might be corrupt in the JPG import filter. If you have Photoshop, maybe open the JPG and save it out as a Tiff, PNG, etc., and then see if the...
  8. hard to trust what I am seeing in this program regarding pdf's

    :goodpost: (posts!!!)
  9. hard to trust what I am seeing in this program regarding pdf's

Yeah; it's a slippery slope any time you deal with clients that do not understand what "production ready" means. If it looks good in their Web browser, then why not on the side of a building? LOL. Other workarounds I've used are: Zoom in on the PDF and take a screen capture at the best...
  10. Font ID... please!

It's a real simple job. Start with something close and tweak it. 10 minutes at most, or on the invoice "90 minutes design / logo recreation" LOL
  11. Font ID... please!

Yeah; good point, J Hill. Plus the N and T are probably modified. Corporate-looking extended fonts were all the rage for a while. So Swiss/Arial/Helvetica/Whatever were used and tweaked, frequently, in logo design. My bad. You right!
  12. Font ID... please!

    Folio Bold, with manual extending.
  13. Wave Printing NO BANDINGS (REALLY NO BANDINGS)

Wave printing is a Mutoh innovation. Neither Roland nor Mimaki can do it. But Mutoh uses Espon heads and has licensed to Epson the Wave technology, since obviously they're partners. Mutoh is the Wave pritning connection. Espon is the 1440 dpi Ecosol printing head connection. That means...
  14. hard to trust what I am seeing in this program regarding pdf's

That's not just a Flexi problem. All programs will use a font substitute table when importing PDFs. Adobe protects the font from being copied from the PDF, as it should, legally. So the solution is to have folks outline (convert to curves) all fonts before PDFing, EPSing, etc. any file they...
  15. Think Twice About Using Signwarehouse!!!

Timeless, isn't she :^) But Gerber (food) has its baby and SignWarehouse has our "baby." LOL.
  16. Think Twice About Using Signwarehouse!!!

Hi Colorado Signs, Negotiations are going on all the time with darn near every equipment or supply maker. But agreements are slow to blossom. We are the world's leading dealer in much of what we sell, and believe that a big part of that is knowing, intimately, what we sell. (we're an...
  17. Think Twice About Using Signwarehouse!!!

You humble me, Pat. (insert red-cheeked emoticon) But as for putting my almost 53 mug into the catalog, let's not be frightening any children or pets!!! I am not aging nearly as gracefully as our lovely, blonde-haired Ms. SignWarehouse :^) (http://www.signwarehouse.com/) Cheers and have a...
  18. WIX to design website

Something to consider is, I believe, should you design a Web site? I think not. Consider this: a great looking template is what you package your content within. Your content is all that matters. The Web "design" must conform to, not get in the way off, and intuitively guide folks to, YOUR...
  19. Apple Software for Plotters?

Heck; even $500 is splurging, since plot data is not at all memory or processor intensive. Printing a Web page to your desktop inkjet is 10 times as complex as a typical cut job. Summa has great utilities and plotting software for the PC, free at their Web site. But seemingly nothing for Mac...
  20. Need help buying my first printer!

McDonald's makes money selling burgers, fries and sodas. That's their main thing / where they make money. But that does not mean they sell at a loss any new products they add to their offerings. Indeed, it would be foolish of them to do so. Would you not agree? Don't screw up a market just...
