  1. Are suppliers so darn busy they can not ship orders right away?

Hi Royster13, I am sorry to say I don't know. Our sales and product management folks cook up deals from time to time that are outside the purview of we marketing ilk. But if you call sales at 800 699 5512 or send email to sales@signwarehouse.com I am sure they'll know what's up with current...
  2. Are suppliers so darn busy they can not ship orders right away?

Some vendors stock for same-day shipping. :-) We don't call ourselves SignWAREHOUSE for nothin' :-)))) -JD
  3. Suggestions for a New Cutter

Hi LittleSnakey, I am surprised that you had trouble finding registration marks, since I know Summa cutters (new S Class and SummaCut-R) have the same sensors (white light scanner on the cutting head) that are used on all Graphtec cutters with ARMS contour-cutting. Your Graphtec might have had...
  4. Suggestions for a New Cutter

For pure cutting, nothing compares to Graphtec and our Vinyl Express Q Series, which is Graphtec FC8000-based. Summa is a great cutter too, especially in tracking and contour cutting accuracy. But when it comes to cut-quality and bullet-proof reliability, Graphtec is truly in a class of it's...
  5. Apple vs. PC poll

    bump ^^^
  6. Apple vs. PC poll

PC, becuase it's what I know :^) As for justifying above laziness: 1. Way cheaper hardware 2. Way more software available 3. More peripherals available, especially in the sign/CAD/tool control arena Brand/feeling/what it is... Apple is cool, tendy and something you use because you...
  7. customer did not spell check his proof

Bad situation, with no winners. You both should have caught it. If 50% is the norm, maybe split the difference (25% reprint) under the premise: "we both missed it and should thus both eat some of the cost of fixing it." JMO
  8. Software Recommendations, please

We have a killer deal on a 42" Graphtec-based cutter (FC8000), with really great FlexiSIGN-based software, that will do all your design, vectorization and production. All for only $2995. http://www.signwarehouse.com/email/weeklydeals/ Graphtec (Q Series) is hands down a better pure vinyl...
  9. Honey, call the lawyer.

"Wonder if people walk in there looking to purchase the software...lol " Adobe's attorneys would have to contend that. But since adobe-looking structures are pretty-much a building code in Santa Fe, which might have more galleries than it does citizens, this flies. No court would find it...
  10. Differ ink kind

Do they know the suggestion they gave did not work? They may have other suggestions. BTW, they'll be in from 1 to 5 pm today, Central Time. Sorry it hasn't been an easy fix. But someone should be able to sleuth the problem. Thanks, Jim

  12. Proper grammar/puctuation help

Take a tip from the world's most successful retailer (Wal-mart Stores). No punctuation is better. Even in ad copy in magazine, the rule is limit punctuation. It's less visually appealing and appears in some studies I've read to reduce readership. The thought is it breaks it up and thus...
  13. beginner course/class

Thanks for the kind words Phototec! We have another wrap training this coming Thursday for any who might be interested. Here's some info: http://www.signwarehouse.com/email/equipmentdeals/VJ48_Wrap_EXPRESS_February.html
  14. Vinyl Express 125 blade drag

If I had to guess I'd say it was your cutting strip, or possibly the blade holder. Check with our support folks at support@signwarehouse.com or call us at 800.699.5512. Thanks! Jim
  15. Plug in filters for Photoshop CS5 recommendations?

Also, when is too much, too much? In graphic communication, crisp beats effects-overload, IMO. Example, from AlienSkin home page. There's 3 EyeCandy eyes on the page. Which one pops, even close-up? (from a distance, effects are merfely blurs) My $0.02.
  16. Plug in filters for Photoshop CS5 recommendations?

Eye Candy 6.0 is 64-bit compatible. http://www.alienskin.com/eyecandy/ Hopefully you can upgrade for a low cost.
  17. How long do you outgas?

For two to three hours after finishing the 6-pack.
  18. Vinyl Express R31 vs Desay Master Tiger 1000

You can get there, but it is a major pain in the neck. As you mentioned, media elongation occurs when laminating. (plus your printer won't print 12 feet exactly; scale variations between the printer and cutter are a given) So you gotta measure what 12 feet is, exactly, after lamination...
  19. Vinyl Express R31 vs Desay Master Tiger 1000

It should work 100% of the time, if the sensitivity of the sensor it properly set to the ambient light in your cutting area. Also the back edge of the print needs about 5 inches of margin, so that the material-out sensor does not stop the job. A couple of workarounds is to tape a scrap onto...
  20. Vinyl Express R31 vs Desay Master Tiger 1000

Essentially you need it upgraded with ARMS to do contour cutting. Graphtec cutters are nothing short of amazing. And we have made them affordable to many more business by scaling the feature. Not dumbed down. But like a car: choose the special features you wish. Or just get a GREAT cutter...
