Definitely convert to a bitmap: 150 dpi, RGB. Object effects don't exort well, if at all. Same with Photoshop layer effects; you gotta add a layer and then merge them if transparent to make the effect part of the actual design. Or flatten if a non transparent design. Corel's convert to bitmap is...
Hmmm? Maybe Rick's copy has a bug or it's a problem in the CorelDRAW/VB app. But Rick's calling Summa, too. So I'm sure it'll get sorted out.
Thanks for the good info.
Best,
I stand corrected! :^) Yeah; I just learned that speaking with Rick. Apparently it's not adding additional marks in the X-Axis on jobs longer than 1.3 meters. But it's easy to copy-paste a set of intermediate marks.
Kudos to Summa for including OPOS-mark creation in WinPlot. Major...
For 5-7 years, or what most would advise for everything, laminate. Real deal lamination. Liquid lams or okay for adding a little protection, but not what you need, IMO.
Maybe other have had different experience. Anyone?
Best!
+1 Sounds like a blade holder issue. You can call our tech support, or send email. Contact options are at www.signwarehouse.com/support. If it is a blade holder issue, we can advise fixing it or sell you a new on if that's necessary.
Best,
Hi Rick,
With WinPlot you need to draw the marks, then it finds them. With CoCut, it adds the marks and includes the parameters (size and placement of the marks) in the plot-file header.
If more marks are needed in the X-axis (length) CoCut adds them. As I recall, there needs to be a mark...
Tablets seem cool, but are limited and approach the size of a laptop, IMO. So I have an Android phone, Kindle for books and a laptop for browsing/whatever. Tabs may become a must-have, but part of me thinks them a faddish sort of thing.

CorelDRAW is easier to learn, IMO. But that's subjective, of course, since many who use Illustrator prefer it and think CorelDRAW difficult.
But a testiment to Corel's easy interface is that the signmaking software guys (Flexi and SignLab) have largely emulated the CorelDRAW interface.

Oops, solution:
Ungroup, and then delete to objects on top. You'll select, hit delete, and it'll look like it's still there (merely the bottom object remaining). If it's not that, and the object IS deleted, hit ctrl-z, undo.
Double vector. The logo file has the hairline stroke and fill object separately defined.
Or possibly, an extra paste put one precisely on top of the other, and both are cutting.
The Primera system is ideal, depending on the complexity and quality-requirement of the labels. Summa's DC line can handle solid colors well. But if they're inclusive of photographic elements, smaller product labels are going to look screened at 300 x 600 dpi.
I'd advise the client be given...
I think SignWarehouse is your best choice. :-)
