  1. Painting over full wrap

We're all good, thanks! Try Long Island, I hear they need help over there, too!
  2. Painting over full wrap

Whatever, haters gonna hate. Apparently those members with huge shops and massive accounts have the luxury of not listening to their client's needs. They are happy to keep doing what they are doing, and have no desire to be flexible or try new things. They already have all the answers, and if...
  3. Painting over full wrap

    I like you.
  4. Painting over full wrap

SHWEET. He already knows its not going to be the most pretty thing on the street. He's more concerned that he gets his name out there. Thank you for the info.
  5. Painting over full wrap

This is exactly the info I'm looking for! The only thing is, do buses have rivets?
  6. Painting over full wrap

You are actually wrong on many levels. He's a great client of ours who has no problem paying for quality products. This is a temporary solution, which is why he is budget-minded. When he purchases a new trailer, he will have no problem investing in proper signs for it. For now, I'm willing to at...
  7. Painting over full wrap

A year or two is more then enough for him. I think he is planning on only using this trailer for a few months before getting a new one. So this is good news.
  8. Painting over full wrap

I live on the Jersey Shore. You have no idea what it is like down here right now. There is so much work that needs to be done, people are going through tools and equipment like you don't know. Tree guys are replacing chainsaws every few days, everyone is buying new trailers, dump trucks...
  9. Painting over full wrap

I told him to get one of his guys to see how hard it is to pull off. Its a 20 ft trailer, and honestly we are more worried about the condition of the paint if we decide to remove the old vinyl. He really doesn't want to spend $4K (most likely more) to re-wrap the whole thing if the surface looks...
  10. Painting over full wrap

We have a client who bought a used extra-large trailer, complete with crappy, old, faded, full wrap including the former companies name and logo all over it. Of course no one wants to spend any real money to remove this monstrosity, so I'm here to ask for your advice. I had an idea to...
  11. sending or receiving artwork

When you quote a job, make sure to include "CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PRINT-READY ARTWORK" somewhere. You can also put a little note on the bottom somewhere that says there is a minimum fee if the supplied artwork is not acceptable, and then it is harder for them to argue with you. I've avoided this...
  12. How much time will you spend on a Proposal?

In case anyone was wondering, all of my initial hard work was not for nothing... They accepted my proposal, and even want to add to it! Woop!
  13. Got 1st time burn done lol

I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure I can get them wholesale for less than $4 a pop (using Gildan or other similar tee.) So $12 each for 60 is pretty expensive imo. But to each their own, I often get $8/sq ft for banners (sometimes more!).
  14. Painting pressure treated wood white

I asked a lumber yard one time about this... They suggested letting the posts dry out for at least a month before putting anything on them. We now try to keep 2 or 4 4x4x10' posts on hand at all times. When we get a job, we just rotate our stock. Honestly, if you're putting up a painted sign...
  15. Store front graphics

I got some on Amazon, but then I noticed my local grocery store had it. But I go to Wegmans, and they pretty much have everything. Its in the cleaning aisle, next to Comet Cleanser.
  16. Tips on installing post in concrete

We do the same thing pretty much.. but by hand with a post-hole digger. And we don't add water, just tap down the quikcrete to get the air out. Also, be careful when you open up those bags, that stuff is powdery and not nice to inhale!
  17. Table top surface. What to use.

Where do you purchase this magical product?
  18. How much time will you spend on a Proposal?

Project Manager said $10-20K wouldn't be unusual for a project of this size. The owner was thrilled with my initial informal proposal, and asked me to get a package together and include everything. So I'm not spinning my wheels, they have money to spend, I just need to convince them to spend it...
  19. How much time will you spend on a Proposal?

Yeah, I included measurements on my quote. I probably should not have done that. Live and learn!
  20. How much time will you spend on a Proposal?

I got a call a few weeks ago about replacing signs at an apartment complex. They asked for something pretty simple, and I inquired about their budget before we went out to the site. The project manager didn't really know, but he felt that the developer would be willing to invest a decent amount...
