  1. What is the goofiest thing a customer has said to/requested of you?

Realtors = Bad, Auctioneers = Good...at least for me.
  2. What is the goofiest thing a customer has said to/requested of you?

Customer walks in: "How can you remove this adhesive off of my van"...then his phone rings. He ends up taking a TWENTY MINUTE phone call, steps outside a few minutes in, and is literally staring at my "no public restrooms" sign for 15 minutes. Walks in says..."I need to use your...
  3. labels2trade.com

That's too bad. I don't have a TON of labels, but I've used them a few times and it worked out great. Maybe there is hope it will return since all the info is still on the website.
  4. labels2trade.com

This is interesting to me as I can still log in and look at stuff....I have a hard time believing it's "closed", but that being said, I haven't tried ordering either. And yes, Signs2Trade is amazing, so is Labels2Trade. Makes my shop run so efficient having them available to me.
  5. How many employees do you have / How long have you been in the business?

ZERO, and wouldn't ever want more. Every single "self employed" person that walks in my shop tells me how good I have it not having employees and they wish they could have those days back. I've owned my shop 9 years, and my grandparents started it 25 years before that. It was just them, and...
  6. 4'x6' Diamond (Orajet 3651) on rivet-less trailer - wet or dry?

Something that big I'd have for sure done something with air release and done it dry...but if you already have it printed on just normal 3651, I'd hose that sucker down and do it wet for sure if I was alone. Wouldn't be hard at all since it's just a flat trailer.
  7. 10' x 88'

I've done a couple of those. Love the paydays on them! Looks good.
  8. Best Supplier in the industry period my opinion.

I am with the OP...been with Advantage for 20 years and they are my first go to supplier for everything. Bought 2 cutters and two prints from them. Amazing tech support and amazing customer service. Great pricing as well. I'd recommend them to anyone.
  9. Looking For A Good Laminate For Big Squeegee

Whichever you need. Cast for cast vinyl, calendered for calendered. I've use the matte, gloss, and satin, and they all look nice.
  10. Looking For A Good Laminate For Big Squeegee

Arlon all day long. You'll love it. The Oracal laminates are nice, but not for the Big Squeegee. Arlon has way thicker backings that make things way easier.
  11. using the bad wrap templates

If I remember right they were outlined years ago. I bought the original like 8 years ago or so it seems like. I've since turned that hard drive into a time machine backup for my Mac because I wasn't ever using it for the templates, so I'm not 100% sure.
  12. ***dependable and economic sign making bundle**

I'd recommend going to a sign expo (I always try to go to the one in Orlando so it's at least a vacation at the same time) and look at the newest equipment and talk to a vendor there. When you start out in this stuff, you don't know how stuff works yet, and you are just guessing sometimes as to...
  13. I just made the biggest blunder one could make on a full wrap for a full size van

No harm no foul. I'm sure when you print wraps on a daily/weekly basis, that's not a good price, but for me, the guy who lives in a town where no one will pay they money for one, it's been a great resource having MM's that can bail me out on stuff that would normally plug up my shop for days...
  14. I just made the biggest blunder one could make on a full wrap for a full size van

Settle down Beavis...some of us have stuff to do other than just jockey on 101 all day. Insignia printed my last one. I'm thinking it was around $3.50/sqft. By the time you figure your vinyl, laminate, and ink costs, you are in the $2.25/sq ft area doing it in house...at least showing what...
  15. Looking for some "Professional" Expertise

I don't know much about having employees because I don't have one, for this very reason...too much headache says everyone I've ever met with employees. It sounds like you are expecting a corporate job in a small business setup. If I'm paying someone salary, they are working at LEAST their 40...
  16. Aftermarket Ink? Need Advice?

I ran Bordeaux for years in my JV3, and no issues, bought a JV33 two years ago and ran Triangle right out of the gate and it's been trouble free. Just great pricing.
  17. Struggling with first install on rivets, now I got to do this. HELP

The RollePro is awesome, but I don't think it does much with 751. I think it's mainly for air release vinyl if I'm not mistaking. I think you can do it, you'll just hate your life on this w/o some kind of air release vinyl.
  18. I just made the biggest blunder one could make on a full wrap for a full size van

I've never printed a wrap in house for part of this reason. I'm not ballsy enough to take the risk when a merchant here will do it for just about my cost and assume all the risk. I had my first wrap I ever did shipped to me, and sure enough, it had the same problem. I thought I was just...
  19. ORAJET 3651 or 3M IJ35C? Help Me Choose..

Hey Instant One, What is your laminate backing paper like? I'm using the Big Squeegee and found that Arlon works the same every time because of the thick backing, as opposed to Oracal which is very thin, and doesn't lay down well with the Big Squeegee. If it's more like the Arlon, I may try...
