You might want to check with a cabinet shop locally, too. We used to have to get custom 6' stakes made for a realtor and the cabinet shop up the street made them for us cheaper than we could buy the raw wood.
Screw two pieces of 2" square tubing to the building by removing the existing screws and replacing with longer screws.
Mount two pieces of 2" x 2" angle aluminum to the back of your sign. Make sure the top piece is set to sit on top of the top piece of square tubing....the bottom angle needs...
Depending on the construction....
If by minimally invasive you mean the customer doesn't want you drilling 50 new holes in his building then it's pretty simple. Get 6 1"x3" pvc couplings to use as your spacers. Remove the 2" screws holding the metal panels to the building, mount your sign in...
Kinko's is just covering their ass. They'll print it for you...they just want to make sure that you're accepting responsibility for acquiring permission to have the file printed.
Sign it (heck, sign it with a fake name if you want) and get it printed.
I'm gonna agree with Dan. The bigger the company the easier it usually is to get the perfect artwork, most of them now have it available online and just issue you a password and tell you to go get what you need.

I use Adobe Font Folio...
If you get the plexi soft enough to confrom to your mold how do you possibly handle the hot, soft, giant sheet of plexi to get it on the mold? I thought most vacuum forming machines heated and molded the stuff all in the same machine.
At least twice a week I get a call from my biggest real estate customer telling me to go pull the campaign/festival/directional/sale signs off their 4x8 real estate signs. People don't think twice about stapling their sign on top of somebody elses. What really ticks me off about it is they use...
