  1. indoor display board stands...

You could use an aluminum post and panel system which would look really nice. If interested try out Advanced lighting Systems. They are in Concord, Ont. info@advancedlightingsystems.ca
  2. How will this view? Stumped about reflective quality....

You'd be better off using coroplast instead of banner material. This banner will be rolled up, and afterwards when it will be unrolled .. Expect allot of tunnels and then ... cracks.
  3. Fair Price or Rip Off?

It's one big print mounted on one sheet of stock. Of course you can go low with an item like that. You can't compare this type of 4x8 to what we were doing 20 years ago. Now it takes 20 minutes to produce a sign like that. This is when you can upsell on design and installation. The sign panel...
  4. Seriously can't take it much longer.

THIS! You don't have to be rude about it but there is nothing wrong in saying ... "Call me tomorow so we can talk about it" or "Stop by the shop tomorow" ... If i am out and people start talking about a job and start giving actual information, i stop them right there and tell them to send an...
  5. Easier way to adhear printed vinyl (Orajet) to foamcore or gatorboard?

Big squeegee works ... Laminator is what's best.
  6. If I have one more customer that uses the word "pop"...

Had a new customer walk in yesterday for some "For Rent" coroplast signs. He started explaining to me how he wanted it to "Pop" and i should try and copy an existing sign he had brought (which did not look good). Appart from his color preferences i pretty much told him to just let me take care...
  7. MDO covered with vinyl

MDO does not swell ... MDF does and is not meant for exterior use. If MDO is not treated it will absorb moisture though and vinyl stuck over it will fail. I personnaly do not like the factory finish at all. Primed or topcoated. It is best to start with a raw sheet and prime / paint it yourself...
  8. Happy 10 Year Anniversary Signs101!

Yep! Happy 10th Anniversary Fred!:toasting: Been here a long time as well and have met a great many people! Here's hoping for many more years!
  9. vectorizing software

I prefer rebuilding overtop a locked image. End results is allot cleaner than a traced object.
  10. I CAN'T see "clearly" now

you could spray it with Clearshield.
  11. All this talk all the time about price... price... price.............

Don't forget the brokers !!! :ROFLMAO:
  12. "The Customer is Always Right"

That's terrible. I would have some strong arguments against going with the revised version. Even the first one is pretty "weak" as far as impact from a distance. Having said that ... If that's what my customer wanted ... That's what i would give them. Then look forward to half a year later...
  13. Daughter's Senior Prom

Lets all wish she is not as crazy as her father. Pretty girl in a pretty dress! :toasting:
  14. Versaworks Rip stuck at 20%

I get allot of artwork from clients. I get asked many times if i will be able to print their files ok. I tell them no problem. If i see lots of strokes, gradients and transparencies i will not think twice to just rasterize the artwork at high res and off to the printer it goes.
  15. Yikes......................

Mmmm .. i understand his feelings but acting on it is a little extreme. Should have shot at them Grand Torino style (Clint rocks!)
  16. Yikes......................

Colored hair does not bother me ... What bothers me is the stupid idiots who wear their pants below the cheeks. Good God man do they look like imbecils. Also ... Me and my friends were getting drunk and high in parks starting at age 13 (1982). So not much has changed ... Just more colors...
  17. Hypocrisy...or is it?

How many of you buy a tool ... Use it for what you need and bring it back after, saying it wasn't exactly what you were looking for. I hear those stories often and it seems many people don't have any issues with that either. Things like this and Threeput's example bother me allot more than just...
  18. Photoshop files between mac/pc help!

Opening a .psd file in Flexi?? You'd be better off flattening your artwork and save as a .tiff or .jpg and whatever vector path you have in your .psd file save it as a separate .eps or .ai file. In Flexi, open up your .eps or .ai file and import your .tiff or .jpg ... Set your vector path as...
  19. A-frame styles

Thanks guys. Looks like what is available is: Black steel frames (decorative or not), Round bases, Windmaster styles (like Gino mentionned), Signacades and some type called Grip It a-frames. Will see what their opinions are on them and also suggest we could custom build some if they want to...
  20. Frosted windows

I haven't used MacTac's air release frosted vinyl yet but i have done quite a bit of frosted vinyl jobs. I have always prefered MacTac since it is thicker than 3M or Avery and much less expensive. I found the thicker material is easyer to work with on large pieces and if you ever have white...
