That sounds about right ... I am shopping for parts to build myself a new pc for home. Thats close to what i am looking to build ... Maybe half the ram but the 4770 series I7 processor.
I was contemplating buying Window8 as an OS but i keep reading how it is not well liked and people seem to...
Make some mags with flame prints and ice cube prints. Now you have three healing options! Standard magnetic healing ... With hot or cold added options!!
Microsoft (or subcontractors) calling people because of updates??? Yeah right ... They would be in financial trouble real quick if they started to offer that.
I think as sign guys (edit: forgot the gals!) we can appreciate more the "coolness" of making it look old on purpose. But people in general would really love looking at it brand new and shiny.
Awesome either way you go Brian :thumb::thumb:
Was one of my favorite actors! I own the Sopranos series and watched it x3 times ... Might start a fourth time this weekend.
It's sad he is gone .. And now you keep hearing these stories of how nice and down to earth he was. I always looked forward to seeing him in movies and was hoping one...
Whenever i send cut files to my CNC guy .. I just send him illustrator files version 8 or less. He has no problems with that.
I can't imagine your guy not being able to at least open an .eps file saved to an older format. Either he has never tried or just doesn't want to.
Look at the ink line ... If it's magenta then check the dampers in your head carriage. They might be swelling, touching the head and causing one color to be sucked up in another line.
I had blue printing almost black and that was the cause of it.
The brand i get is called "e-panel". It is more expensive than Tru-Stock although i have used that also for small signs. I haven't tried risking doing large signs with the cheaper brands just beause i don't like getting bit in the ...
I just looked at the quote. Maybe they are using 5'x10' boards? I know it's still a really low price for these signs (way to low) ... but ... It's for Coldwell Bankers .. a real estate company. They probably do many of them and maybe use 5'x10' sheets regularly? If so i'm sure they have many off...
Joe .. I know it's still an expensive product. But You can either buy the pre-painted stuff with either the primer or with a finish coat from the factory which is total crap or you can buy the MDO slightly cheaper but prep it yourself and you will have a far superior product. We can coat 15...
4mm solid aluminum??? I don't think so. Sounds more like 4mm aluminum composite (thin aluminum with a pvc core). You can buy the cheaper brands in the 40.00$ + range or more expensive brands like Dibond. My understanding is that the cheaper brands are fine for small pieces .. But if you use them...
If doing just one then it's verry expensive. But when i buy it, usually it's no less than 10 - 15 sheets at a time. I give them the two coats and keep them in stock.
My cost on MDO is more or less 45.00$ a sheet ... RAW ... I put 2 coats of oil based paint myself. One primer and one enamel. If i'm using the paint background i will give two coats of enamel. Factory paint is total crap.
Never used an electropounce. Lots of carbon paper and carbon sticks. Shop i worked at was in a two story house in downtown Ottawa. Second floor used to have apartments but it was gutted and our "projection" room i guess used to be a kids room because it had old race car wallpaper (hot weels i...
Sure have ... I remember taking the final sketch and putting in a projector to hand draw full size paper patterns .. Used to hand letter, hand cut.
Allot of fun has been taken out of the industry ....
So far i have had good experience with leasing equipment. I like to put half down, lease at a low rate and have a buyout option at the end (usually it's 10% of the leased/borrowed amount). Works great for tax purposes! And by leasing a low amount makes for small monthly payments.
