sometimes I receive files from designers and for whatever reason there can be countless masks and as you break them down and delete the black boxes, you have to be careful because you can delete pertinent info.
Not sure what causes that but it is a pain at times.
not masked not grouped not compounded.. hell with it, I deleted them and redrew them, but it is an illustrator issue that when the stroke is coverted to an outline it makes a line on both sides of the stroke and somehow they are stuck together without touching and flexi has no idea how...
couldnt wait to find out so I tried and it does not work. I would have thought when it ran the second set the registration marks would be exact to the first set but they are not. was out by about 1/2"....... gonna hand cut those 32 suckers now.....sigh:bushmill:
I accidently allowed an 85" cut and print job go out and somehow the software defaulted to 3 copies. Theres no way I trust the Summa to cut anything that big although they are just 12 x 12 squares. By the time I realized this it was halfway through the second set so I waited until I it started...
none of the compound options highlights. it is very strange and I have seen this before. I could just let the cutter cut the 2 lines but they are so close we take the chance of actually scoring the backing paper.
I have a file that the customer must have used a stroke to create my cutline, but he converted stroke to outlines before sending. When I designate it as a contour cut it makes 2 cuts...an inner and an outer. I cancel the operation and try to break the shape into 2 pieces but nothing highlights...
My graphtec actually has the teflon strip, but it looks like carbon fiber vinly and the adhesive, when new is always trying to fall off of it...hence teflon. I think the stuff you guys get cut is the white plastic material found on different plotters.
I can get a piece to last maybe a year if...
These days you would think companies would be very aggresive in trying to get orders.
How many times do you call a company and then have to put up with an automated attendant? Thats fine so long as you can reach someone to speak to. Sure for cable companies and cell phone companies we are...
I have Flexi but not a Mutoh and have periodically seen this happen....usually when I change an ink cartridge in the middle of a print and the printer had to wait more than 5 minutes for slave boy to change it (me!)
I would be curious to know how he managed to get permission from all those companies and then how he would deal with placement of the logos? That is the real story to be seen for sure!!
