  1. Lowballers!! Aaarrgh!!!

I'm just blown away at the prices that are being thrown out here.... Digital print/lam on calendared vinyl, retail = $8/sf Digital print banner = $6/sf Both include basic layout. If the client starts wanting hard-core design, they get charge $65/hr.
  2. Seams

What he said. All depends on the vehicle. If it's in the client's budget, then seamless is the way to go - however, when you're doing fleet work on panel vans, seam it up. Start at the back, and work your way forward. Try not to overlap more than 1". if it's a car, and total height is less...
  3. 3M 1080 Lifting around Contours

If it's been out of the shop for a month, you dont' want to try to re-activate the adhesive (IMO). Re-print, and hope that your colors aren't too far off, and learn your lesson. Unlike Adam, I use primer (in certain situations). And, depending on the vehicle type, there are other tricks you can...
  4. Matte Pink

Gotcha...Well, in that case, i would recommend using either Avery's Supercast or else 3M IJ180-CV3. For solid color matte work, i'd say the Avery is your best bet.
  5. Matte Pink

No - what I was asking was this.... If you are already a wrap guru (which if this is your work, then you are), then WTF are you asking us what you should print on?
  6. Matte Pink

Ummm.....Have you ever done a wrap before? Like, ever?
  7. Revamp time....

OK - whole new direction. Stayed black and white for now, although there will be some orange thrown in if this makes the "final" cut. I feel like this one has a much more cohesive feel to it, and stands better on it's own than the earlier (i.e., crappier) one did. Thoughts?
  8. Revamp time....

Yup. Orange is kind of a must. It's the one thing I'd like to carry over from our current logo. That's also where the dot in the "i" came from (our current logo). This is what we have currently, just for reference...
  9. Revamp time....

ROFL!!! Consensus is..... it sucks (I kind of already knew this)... Gonna take a few more cracks and see what I can come up with...And if it's still a big "ick" I'll hire it out. Creative juices have been a bit stymied lately - may need to a recharge...Vacation is coming up though...
  10. Revamp time....

    Lol....That bad, huh?
  11. Revamp time....

    Anyone?
  12. Steve at SignFonts.com ---- YOU ARE AWESOME!

Just so everyone knows, "Old Glory" is the one I have on reserve. That script looks nasty :) Of course, if I miss out on a "new release special", then I guess I'll have to give you a call and beg for a different font at the "special" price...ROFL!!!!!!
  13. Revamp time....

Well, some of you may remember a couple of years ago we re-vamped our logo. It was, if I do say so myself, not a good process. It's one thing to design a logo for a client. You aren't close to it, and you can be objective. Not so much when doing your own. In any event, I'm working on what i...
  14. Steve at SignFonts.com ---- YOU ARE AWESOME!

Just wanted to give a quick shout to to Steve. Not only does he produce some great fonts, but he also provides exceptional customer service. I called him, placed an order (build your own 6 package), and within 30 minutes I had my fonts in hand and installed.
  15. printable magnet on valuejet

I can always count on Bob :) Might have been just as easy to say "Sounds like you may have been misinformed. Here's the REAL reason not to use this stuff." Of course, then you wouldn't be you -- and I like you...lol
  16. help! wrinkles laminating

Unpopular, but good advice here. Unless you are laminating 20'+ prints at a time, sled, sled, sled. Cut down two pieces of 4'x8' 4mm coro into 54"x48" pieces. Tape the leading edge of your print down flat to one of them, and start laminating. Feed the 2nd sheet through as the first comes to an...
  17. printable magnet on valuejet

If you do a search you will find some answers. Long story short, everything I have been told is not to try it with a Mutoh. EVERYTHING from the platen to the heater is metal in there. Magnets stick to metal. Leads to head strikes. Now, I've never actually run any magnetic through mine (due to...
  18. Wrap removal biz name suggestions?

I hate the word "sticker". Hate it. It marginalizes and trivializes what we do in this industry. I would personally stay away from it. If you don't like "Wrap Strippers", how about "GraphicStrippers", all one word. Use the same tagline, and I REALLY like the logo idea of a silhouetted stripper...
  19. Since I was called out.......................

I'm not sure about your neck of the woods, but where I come from, if you mess with a friend, you just messed with me....But what do i know - i'm just a dumb hick from Ohio....
  20. Since I was called out.......................

I get to Florida a few times a year. Maybe next time I'm there i'll pay Addie's "shop" a visit. I won't say a word. Just go in, take one solid swing, and walk back out. I bet I'd have as much fun doing that as Addie does trying to **** off one of the most respected members of the site....
