Gino - I took the photo myself. Went past that shop every day for a couple of years and only took the pic a month before they finally reprinted the signs. It is what it is despite your suspicions. Nice theory though.
I used this pic on my site to explain the effects of UV light on digital prints.
All printed at the same time I guess, the ones to the right copped more sunlight than the others.

The main issue with those was the rubber drive belt. The fix was a replacement gear drive.
That's only gunna work if nothing changes in your print environment - temp, humidity, print head wear, media coatings..
For consistency you ought to re leinearise and rip the file again.
I had a fairly good look at this printer last month at the show in Sydney.
It seems to be a re engineered version of their latest waterbased printer to use the new inks. Main obvious difference being the big heaters which are necessary to get the inks to take and dry. Yes there are two power...
In preflight have a look at file>job properties I think it is. One of the postscript tabs has an option to turn on the 'cutcontour' option. So check that.
Of course you need your cut line to be named 'CutContour' as a spot colour.
These are good workhorses. Have a look at whether the dye inks will work on the media you want to use. The dye inks are cheaper and give better print quality if you don't need longevity.
