  1. Alternative to 3m VHB for mounting 1/4" PVC interior wall lettering?

With velcro the letters can be rernoved, the lock stays on the wall, gets painted around and letters reinstalled. The tab on the wall still sticks like vhb but usually can be removed with less damaged than a letter installed with vhb that's pried off the wall
  2. Alternative to 3m VHB for mounting 1/4" PVC interior wall lettering?

We will use velcro, the hard plastic type, when we know the wall are going to be repainted

  8. The joys of customers...

Only things I would think are on you is the power outlet and letting the customer make a decision about the paint scuff (to either live with or have it fixed)
  9. Dibond Box signs

Since these are "temp" signs I would suggest whatever method is most economical and that you are used to. But I personally wouldn't use PVC. Probably use .063 aluminum which we would bend in our brake.
  10. Wrap material suggestion for color change

We don't do a lot of color change wraps, only for existing clients, but had good luck with both 3M and Oracal. We have bought from Fellers because you can buy by the yard.
  11. Nicer-looking Wood or Metal A-frames?

The problem with a lot of those decorative ones is they aren't designed to hold up in the rain or wind. But custom building isn't cheap and event hosts usually are. If they have the budget then building custom wood a frames is the best bet. Or you could try finishing those existing ones so they...
  12. Copying Vintage Old Logo labels for restoring old equipment

Yep, usually the only way to reproduce is a photo of whatever is left, combined with and online search. Then rebuild it. It's amazing how may repop logos are out there. I'd also run the photo by the vector doctor to see if he can handle it.
  13. Equipment Redundancy - Bad idea to rely on one printer?

My biggest client has orders every week that have to be delivered by Saturday night. Years back I added a second printer, it was a refurb unit with warranty. It''s great to have that peace of mind. I also do a lot of Edge printing and just picked up a used Edge w/plotter.

  19. Considering hiring a full-time salesperson. Any advice?

I've only worked in small to mid-size shops. Two of them tried adding sales people while I was there. Neither worked out. I think the two biggest issues were Compensation- you need to be selling a lot of profitable projects to pay a sales person, I would think it would work for a shop selling...
  20. Need Help Need to finish this Cedar Sign

Paint and especially stain will bleed in that grain. So first step would be either a full coat of sealer or sealer/stain to control bleeding. Once that's done you can add your other colors. If you torch it, do that first then the sealer. The otehr issue is if this is an outside sign the final...
