Gold leaf is a bit tricky and engine turning adds to the fun. I use a piece of velvet on a padded dowel and spin by hand. Some do it with a drill but I'd be worried I'd burn thru it.
The worst issue with this one was not having time to clear the gold before I lettered on top of it, there is no...
I've done a few, mostly stock cars, reproducing the original from old photos. Those are usually not too difficult because the quality of lettering wasn't always professional
But this one was a real challenge, engine turn gold leaf meatball with lettering on top of it and it had to be done in a...
What czar said, see if the box is full of water. You guys have had some serious rain and heat, is it possible moisture trapped in the box got absorbed by the lexan
I too started as a sign painter. I love Gerber for text and vector work. It was designed for sign makers so has features that mimic what we would do with a brush, like the shade tool.
I used to use Kemp Permagild, but I think it isn't made anymore
When researching this recently I found good reviews on this stuff. It's what I will try on my next project that won't pay for the real stuff

I've never had my Edge 2 or 15" Envision on a service schedule. I follow the instructions for cleaning and lubricating I was given when I first got them.
Gerber offered a free Edge tune up when they were pushing the FX and I had that done. I have a parts machine for the Edge and used the clutch...
Interesting, I immediately assumed cheap vinyl with cheaper laminate. But in any case I'd clean up the structure and repaint the frame.
Reface with acm and probably do a full laminated print. You could do vinyl with a print for the flower, but the flower will fail before the vinyl so
may as...
I had a client do it. Wood transom that was stripped and varnished. He applied several coats before I applied the signgold. Then applied several more over it.
You have to apply several coats over it before you can fine sand for the final coat.
Personnaly I prefer applying on finished coat and...
We looked at getting into wraps when they first came around since we do lots of vehicles. I knew a few shops that were into them and worked with them on a few jobs.
But I was reluctant to go full bore and get a new printer/laminator. Kinda glad I did wait now. The best wrap place I knew just...
I finish the sign completely first. I paint the sign a similar color to the smalt, so black if you are using black. The letters are leafed or painted, every thing is done. Make sure the paint is well cured.
Then I lightly scuff where the smalt goes. If it's a large sign the smalt is done in...
Here's a close up of what it will look like that big on a print, if you don't want that cr*ap then I will needa vecror pdf or high rs image file.
After they send the same file exported as a pdf, Sorry that's not how it works.
It will be $$ to recreate it.
I've had State Farm for quite a while now. I'm always worried about something like this happening, though not because of wraps, I was thinking more like installs.
The only issues we have had are clients wanting higher and more extensive coverages. But going from $1m to $3m now really didn't...
