  2. Window Perf laws / regulations

Odd that was ticketed. If you have to be able to see out what happens in the case of work or cube vans that have only driver and passenger side windows? In WI anything from the drivers shoulders back is fair game.
  3. Best drill bit for acrylic and polycarbonate?

Post should have been worded as to what is the best method for making mounting/stand-off holes. One or two pieces I agree with using step bits. They are fantastic. Dozens or more pieces? Waterjet, CNC, or Laser and I let my supplier use the method they deem fit. This way I don't have to...

Excellent response.:thumb: Some people still care.

Nice. :thumb: What program(s) are you using?
  6. Baathroom remodel

Wow what a mess! Water damage is the worst. Of course contractors that don't give a rat's a$$ run a close second.
  7. Need some guidance on how to break down 180 yard 3m adhesive rolls

If the current roll holders are removable have a machine shop make extended versions. Or have them make offset versions that can be bolted to your existing mounts. Offset would be required to compensate for metal thickness of existing brackets. Doing it this way you get to use existing...
  8. Lamination

Only things we don't laminate are banners and short term decals/signs. I agree with laminate giving a more professional look. We printed some black and white wedding photos then put down a 5mil textured matte laminate. They turned out amazing. I think I was happier than the client.
  9. VersaWorks runtime error? H E L P

We have a rare issue with VW. It will open a second copy in the background and crash VW. Sometimes VW won't even start. It's on a PC so the old control, alt, delte to the rescue. May want to check your print ques too. If they are loaded with tons of files that will cause VW to choke. As far...
  10. Why didn't I think of that???? (scaling)

I've used Sticky Yard on projects. Interface is a bit odd, but it works. You click point to point and it adds the lines and dims. Pretty simple. Otherwise for short vehicles I measure the rim. Long vehicles I measure the rim and wheelbase.

Check the pinch roller wheels themselves. If you've never maintained the pinch wheels since new it's probably time to replace the far right and far left wheels. My Roland made it about 4.5 years before needing new out wheels. Sometimes the rubber becomes separated from the hub. Or the hub...
  12. Can I get a .125 radius on the edge of a part?

Double sided tape to hold the piece to the work table then build a fixture to guide a router. It would also require the use of a guide bushing in the router base. A tiny portion of a 1/4" round over bit would be used. The purpose of the fixture would be to protect the top surface that can't...
  13. Designer Dan Cassaro speaks out against design contests

Love the response. I also refuse spec work. Had and "incredible" offer just last week. Fame, fortune, untold riches...barf. Also don't need help working for nothing as I can turn a simple good paying job into a money losing disaster all by myself.

  15. Name that Router

Looks like one of those Flea-Bay specials someone posted a pic of the last couple days. Probably donated because it caused more problems than it solved. Of course that may be a good thing depending on the technology/trades programs there.
  16. New Cleveland Browns logo

Change is hard and scary. What is truly scary is the people trying to spin the redesign. They must never listen to their verbal diarrhea.
  17. Heat Resistant Vinyl

Road America for the bike races is the best. Not the circus is was years ago though. Took my brother last year and apologized for that. He gave me a goofy look so I told him the grounds were so packed with vendors, and whatever else you might never see the races. LOL Way back when a friend...

Thank you. Track day would be perfect to IR gun some systems. Harbor Freight has an IR temp gun you can usually pick up for 25 bucks. Surprisingly accurate for the money. I'll have to remember to bring mine along next time I twist a grip. Although that won't be for weeks here.(stupid weather)
  19. Heat Resistant Vinyl

I'd give it a shot. The "can" will stay a lot cooler than the tip. If you have an IR gun handy go for a ride then shoot the can in various spots. Should tell you what you need to know.
