  1. Winter Wonderland...

my theory is if it's going to be cold we may as well have snow too. I love when a wicked storm rolls through and the entire city grinds to a halt...well on a saturday anyways lol
  2. WYPET - Clear Dry Erase Vinyl Overlaminate

The dry erase I have found from a couple of different sources is very thin and rigid, but also we found it really held well to its backing paper so we had to be careful peeling it back. I tried using the BS on it but the backer would not come off (possibly old stock) so I actually soaked the...
  3. Vinyl Types

Calendered vinyl can be considered for outdoor use but be warned that it is not designed to last long on vehicles although I have in some cases seen blacks and whites last well over 5 years. Generally you want to use the right product for the job and should always try to sell a customer a cast...
  4. Third Party Inks!!!!!!!!!

so you just load these inks as the oems need replacement? seeing that they say there will be virtually no difference in profile I can only think this is the way to work them? I am hesitant yet interested. Anybody in the great white north selling these?
  5. contour cut

I like Mikes thinking.....it will increase the order to at least 150 lol
  6. Third Party Inks!!!!!!!!!

do they come in cartridges and if so what is the cost?
  7. contour cut

I cant think your going to be able to weed out the littel tiny dots around the letters. I would offer the customer these printed on the Edge, on clear with a die cut contour that hugs the outside of the copy. I would never cut something that small and then toil over it for what could be...
  8. square foot pricing?!

I use sq ft pricing and then sit back and think it over. In some cases depending on the size it can get way to expensive and other times it can get to be to cheap. I then think about time. I want to run my shop at $70.00 per hour so I have to key that into the formula somewhere. I guess I wing...
  9. Cold weather- outside vinyl installs

you couldn't pay me enough money to do that. If she dont fit inside we dont do it. My pet peeve in the winter is when a customer brings a vehicle and it is covered in snow and ice. We try to get most off outside using brooms but the inside shop just turns nasty when all that dirty muddy road...
  10. movie soundtracks and other relaxing music

Tangerine dream!!!! wow I have found some on limewire and napster over the years. If any of you likes old jazz (60's 70's 80's) this here is the site. Hopefully its ok to post this link, if not, I am sorry Fred you can delete it. http://myjazzworld.blogspot.com/ I have spent an...
  11. printing and cutting reflective.

yea thats what I use with an old beat up blade. The summa has a larger scale for pressure. Regular 3ml with a 3ml lam uses about 245 so I will assume reflective with lam will be well up into the 400's with a beat up crap blade lol
  12. printing and cutting reflective.

duh........ Believe it or not the graphtec blade holder actually will fit into the Summa. hmmmmm I do believe I have solved the dilemma!!!! now to figure out how much pressure.
  13. printing and cutting reflective.

Generally I would except that I really dont weant to ruin the blade in the Summa cutter. Trust me I know how much of a nightmare it can be after that to re calculate all my pressures. Much easier to do it the way I said in the long run
  14. printing and cutting reflective.

Here's the scoop. I have a rather complex contour cut that I need to do for some enforcement vehicles. The door logo will be printed on 2 mlclear vinyl, then applied to white reflective that I will have cut in our Graphtec. The reason I want to do it this way is that my Summa has never been used...
  15. Just lost my best friend

I'm soSorry to hear about that Dave, Pets are very much Family members and crying over their deaths is very natural.
  16. How Cold is Too Cold?

we drop the thermostat to about 15 celcius but I keep one of those oil filled heaters close to the machine just to keep her warm.
  17. White foils

The Edge software and the nature of the printer allow you to do so many different things that a cmyk printer cant do, but I love the cmyk printers for the ease of issues like this one.
  18. Does Anyone Make "BLACK LIGHT" Vinyl

All those bowling alleys and indoor putting places use dayglo or flourescent vinyls, with the use of blacklight lighting. Is that what you mean?
  19. Gerber StaticCling & Temperature

Tell him to try using soap and water to apply.
  20. how digital can bite you in the a$$

you all have valid points and I thank you all for your 2 cents. Seeing that the mistake is simply one word on a 4 x 8 sheet that takes up aprox .75" x 4" and that I have retyped the word and have kerned it into place with vitually no real noticeability by the layman (even I had trouble glancing...
