Just got off the phone with Canon service rep. My Canon Rebel XT is "not compatible" with Windows 7. Nice. Canon apparently has no intention of remedying this.
I could see this if it were some old obscure make that they only sold a few of. There must thousands of these things still in use all...

Thanks WW. The new machine is from the box store and has loads of Acer crap on it. I have themes(?) set to "Windows classic" now and deleted some crap and now it seems to idle around 600ish. It's going to take some time to get used to the new OS. I've been on XP for some time.
Pre-fab? No idea.
There is all sorts of stuff running in the background. I guess I have to figure out what's required and what's crap.

Choucove, that sounds a bit complex! My XP machine is showing 2 gigs of ram with a 512 video card installed with two 512 sticks of ram and 1 stick of 1024 BTW.
Tablet seems to work fine. It's gonna take some getting used to but I like it. I haven't tried it in a program that reads pressure yet. Still loading programs and stuff.
There are lots of settings you can tweak. I reduced the size of the board because this thing is big and it takes some...
So far I have corel x4 and illy cs4 working normally. Flexi starter loaded up but it won't recognize the HASP key. I haven't tried any troubleshooting yet. I looked at the tash manager to see how much ram was being used. My XP machine was using 225 megs at idle. 7 is using 1 gig! otta look into...
